Chapter 16 The Introduction Party
- Sarah sat in the back seat of Damon's black Sidan. She had absolutely nothing to do, so she busied herself by fiddling with the chains on her wrist, causing a rattling sound to disperse through the car. When they had gotten in a few minutes ago, Damon had made sure to scoot as far away from her as possible...even if that meant squeezing himself flush against the car door.
- He didn't want to touch her...not even a small graze. Sarah felt the urge to glare over at him...and she did, but only for a split second. Thankfully, she turned her face away before he could notice it.
- "Need I remind you that you should be on your best behaviour?" Damon asked nonchalantly as he looked out the window. His sharp jawline was displayed openly, rays of sunlight occasionally meeting his skin from the spaces between the tree leaves. They were passing by a long line of green palm trees on both sides. And not a single car drove by them since they started their journey. Sarah wasn't sure what was so intriguing out there all along, but when he spoke just now and refrained from looking at her, she got the idea that he stared outside because he didn't want to see her.
