• Caspian was used to rejecting clingy girls, but he wasn’t used to getting rejected by one. Ever since Audrey pushed him away, he didn’t know how to act around her. He tried to be casual and nonchalant like it wasn’t bothering him, but it was eating him up alive.
• Later that day, Killian stayed in the house to do more work while Caspian and Audrey went to town. They went to the waterfront strip where Audrey did a little shopping. After that, they went to the lighthouse and got all the way to the top. They got there right around sunset and the view was picture perfect. Audrey was mesmerized by the pink and orange skies overlooking the crystal water, but all Caspian could see was her. Her face, her eyes, and her lips. He didn’t give a rat’s ass about the color of the sky right now. All he thought about was kissing her again, but he stopped himself because he knew she would reject him still.
