• After laughing, Megan screamed so loud it made our ears ring. Then, in a flash that I couldn’t avoid, she pushed my body toward a shelf near the sofa. I crashed into the shelf, then into the wall, and fell to the floor along with the shelf.
• I winced in pain and my legs ached as I tried to get up and stand. It wasn’t until I realized that my left arm had landed on a piece of the fallen statue. No wonder I felt my arm was sore.
