Chapter 7 Unlucky Day

  • Harold POV:
  • I quickly rushed Susie into the Vet. Susie is three years old and she has never once become sick like this. I didn’t know what Selina did to her to make her situation like this. I’m worried sick while waiting for the waiting area as the Vet checked on Susie. She was the only one I had, I can’t afford losing Susie.
  • Not that long, the Vet went out of the room. I immediately stood up to go to her. She took out her gloves and pulled down her mask.
  • “She’s fine now, we gave her an IV and antibiotics,” the Vet said. “We have to admit her here tonight until tomorrow morning so we can check on her.”
  • “Thank you, Doc. May I know the reason why she vomited like that?”
  • “Well, it's expired dog food. That’s what the lab result showed,” she replied. “But you don’t have to worry now. You have to be more careful next time.”
  • My mouth gaped, I just nodded. That dog food… I gave her that earlier this morning before I left the villa. And I didn’t even check its expiration date. I forgot that I bought it two months ago…
  • Damn, I wrongfully accused Selina for doing something that she didn’t do. What the hell? She cried in front of me, she was worried about Susie too… What did I do?
  • “I have to go and apologize to her…”
  • After the Vet left me, I quickly took my phone and then dialed Selina’s number… but she wasn't answering her phone. Probably because she was mad at me. And because she wasn’t answering, I checked the tracking device that I tapped onto her car.
  • “Where are you?” I asked myself.
  • Selina’s POV:
  • “I’m sorry, Miss. But your card was declined.”
  • “Try this one.” I gave out the last card I had and the hotel receptionist swiped it again but on the nth time, she shook her head.
  • I took back my card from her and then put it back on my wallet. “I’m sorry…”
  • My wallet has only $300 left because I don’t usually carry cash. I gave my savings to Barbara that she used for her small business. I can’t take it back right away because I’m sure that she hasn’t earned it yet. Now my cards have all declined, mostly blocked. Blocked by my father! I’m sure of that! I am penniless, and my father was right. I am nothing without my family!
  • I raked my fingers through my hair as I sat down on the waiting shed, thinking where I should go now. Then my phone vibrated in my pocket. I took out my phone and saw that Harold had been calling me for over ten times that I didn’t notice.
  • “Hello?” I answered.
  • “Selina… Where are you?”
  • “I’ve already left your villa, don’t worry…”
  • “Babe, look. I wronged you. Susie is fine now, the Vet said that it was because of the expired dog food. You can go back to our villa.”
  • “I know that I didn’t do anything to her,” I answered, gritting my teeth.
  • “Yeah, and I know that now. You can go back to my villa now…”
  • “I’m sorry but no. I can’t go back there knowing that you didn’t trust me.”
  • “Where are you? I’ll fetch you—”
  • Before he could finish his sentence, I ended the call and turned off my phone so he couldn’t call me again. After the accusation that he did to me? I can’t go back there knowing that he didn’t trust me enough to live with him. What if he will accuse me of something more than that?
  • I have decided to go get my car and go to the lower city to check into a motel instead. It will cost lower than the hotels here. I drove there and parked my car in a nearby parking area before I went out with my luggage.
  • But when I was about to go to the motel that was just in front of the parking area, a drunk tramp blocked my way.
  • “Hmm, excuse me Sir. Could you please let me pass by?” I asked.
  • But the guy looked at me from head to toe before he gave me a lustful smile.
  • “Hey, you looked like a rich sexy girl. Wanna come with us? Let’s play!”
  • I quickly shook my head. “I’m sorry… but I have to go.”
  • However, the guy grabbed my arm and then shouted. “Hey, hey! Fellas! We have a nice b*tch here! Come over here!”
  • My eyes widened. He wasn’t alone! I tried to roam my eyes around to see if there’s someone else aside from them but no one.
  • “W-what are you going to do with me? Let go of me!” I shouted.
  • “Oh no, no! We’ve been waiting for this moment to come. To taste how a rich sexy girl tastes!” he said giggling.
  • “Damn you man, this girl’s hot!”
  • “Come on, let’s get her there!”
  • Nervous rushed through my chest and tried to escape from them but they were too strong.
  • “Help! Help!” I shouted.
  • But the three guys just laughed at me.
  • “No one will hear you here, Miss! This part is secluded!”
  • My tears run down my cheeks. “Please, don’t do this to me! Please!”
  • I cried so hard while they dragged me down the alley. It was dark there and no one could see us! How the hell did I become so unlucky today?!
  • “Please! Please don’t do this! I can pay you! Just please!”
  • “You can pay us for our performance later, just wait!” The guy replied laughing.
  • “No! No! Don’t!” I screamed at the top of my lungs but still, no one hears me.
  • The other guy took my luggage and my bag. He was so happy when he got my phone, wallet and everything that was important to me.
  • “This is our lucky day!” The drunk guy chuckled.
  • “Please… don’t do this to me!” I cried, pleading, asking for mercy but they didn’t hear me out.
  • They were too busy with their own happiness while I cried there… maybe it was the end of me.
