Chapter 9 Helping Each Other
- Stella looked at Marvin with furrowed brows as he said he would never fall for a woman again.
- "After the mission is successful, you are free to choose your options. I allow you to stay in my house and enjoy all the facilities as long as you don't interfere with what I'm doing."
- Stella nodded in understanding. "Since it happens in the future, we'll see how it goes."
- "One more thing," Marvin said.
- "What?"
- Don't expect more from me. Don't put your heart into me and never involve love."
- Stella turned her gaze in another direction and smiled sadly. She looked back at Marvin again. "You are numb, right? Then it's the same. Damian made me reluctant to fall in love with a man again. All men are jerks!"
- "So you're calling me a jerk?" asked Marvin with narrowed eyes.
- Stella swallowed hard. "You're on the exclusion list," she said with a smirk.
- Marvin was still squinting and glaring sarcastically. Stella went back to reading the contents of the agreement, then when she finished, she looked back at Marvin again.
- "How is it? Is there anything you want to change? Or do you want to add something else?" Marvin asked.
- Stella shook her head. "No, I've read it thoroughly and I have no problem with the contents."
- Mia, who had been silent and listening, turned her gaze in another direction and rolled her eyes lazily. She would have loved to be in Stella's position.
- "There's nothing more to ask, right? Now quickly sign it," said Marvin.
- "Yes, sir," replied Stella, then picked up a pen and signed the agreement immediately. When she was done, she slid the folder over to Marvin.
- "Okay, thank you," Marvin replied as he took the letter and put it back into the drawer where he had taken the folder earlier.
- "You're done, right? Can we go home then?" asked Mia.
- Marvin nodded.
- The moment after seeing Marvin nod, Mia immediately got up from her seat.
- "It's done, but I'm not done talking yet," said Stella.
- Mia, who had only half stood up, looked at Stella. "What else?" She looked at Stella with an annoyed expression.
- "We don't know Mr. Marvin's purpose for making the deal," Stella said to Mia, and then looked back at Marvin again. "You already know clearly why I want to make a deal like this. Then what are your reasons for making this deal? What is your purpose in doing this? What are the benefits for you?"
- Mia sat back and looked at Marvin. She was also curious about Marvin's purpose in making the deal.
- "Actually, I don't have any goals concerning Damian because I don't have any problems with him at all," Marvin replied.
- "If you don't have a problem, then why make a deal like this? It can't be just to help me, right? We didn't know each other before," Stella said.
- "The benefit I get is satisfaction," replied Marvin, his eyes staring straight at her with a sharp gaze.
- "What does that mean?" asked Stella.
- "I'm actually engaged," said Marvin, looking at Stella.
- "Huh?"
- "My mom forced me to accept that woman," said Marvin. "Her name is Fanny. Why did I help you? Because Fanny was in contact with Damian, they were in a relationship. Fanny had an affair with Damian."
- "What?" Mia stared at Marvin with a shocked look. "So that asshole guy is in a relationship with another woman named Fanny? Damn it!"
- "Why are you angry? You don't like Damian, do you? Even if he hooks up with a thousand women, it shouldn't be a problem. So why do you look upset?" asked Stella.
- "Huh? Yeah... I-I..." Mia scratched the nape of her neck that wasn't itchy.
- Stella rolled her eyes, then looked back at Marvin again. "So? You want revenge for being cheated on?"
- "Tsk!" Marvin turned his gaze in another direction, snickering sarcastically when he heard Stella's question, then looked back at Stella with a smile. "If I was hurt because they were having an affair, I wouldn't do something like this. This kind of thing is a waste of time! I could have kill Damian right away."
- "If not for the heartache, then for what?" asked Stella.
- "I told you that my goal is not Damian, but Fanny. I could have found another woman to agree with me. But since this Fanny is related to Damian and it turns out that you also have a grudge against Damian, I made a deal with you. I destroy Fanny and you destroy Damian. I help you and you help me."
- Stella's forehead furrowed.
- "I want to get away from that woman, but it's so hard because my mom is always on her side. I tried to tell my mom to end things with Fanny because I don't like her, but it didn't work at all. Fanny is a very cunning woman. She always managed to incite my mother to approve of my relationship."
- "Now, sir, you must have proof that Fanny is having an affair with another man, right? Just give that evidence to your mother," said Stella.
- "I told you that Fanny is a cunning woman! She must have prepared a good excuse for my mother and the ending will still be the same," said Marvin.
- "So? What will you do? What do you need from me?"
- "I'll make her end the relationship. If Fanny knew that I was married, she would be angry, right? But she can't do anything because in fact the status of the woman I'm with is a wife and she's just a fiancé. She says she loves me so much, she'd do anything to be with me, so I'll make her heart break when she sees me with another woman. I'll make her tired of chasing me and finally choose to let go."
- Stella and Mia looked at Marvin, who was talking seriously.
- "I have another reason why I want to destroy Damian."
- "What?" asked Stella.
- "He killed the person who meant the most to me," said Marvin.
- "Huh?" Stella and Mia looked at Marvin with shocked eyes.
- "He killed the person I care about the most."
- "Who?" asked Stella.
