Chapter 2 Innocent Eyes
- Ignazio
- Exactly an hour later, I stepped into the helicopter that landed on my rooftop with my men. I settled down in my seat as the helicopter took off. I tried to remember when was the last time I'd taken a day off from work, not to mention a week-long vacation. It’s been so long; I don’t think I know how to relax and not do anything. I just hope I don’t run back to Sicily before one week.
- Once, I have been willing to live that kind of life, though. I walked away from the mafia at the request of my pregnant wife for the sake of our baby, but it ended badly, and it brought me deeper into the mafia world. Every day I blame myself for what I could have done differently. Maybe, just maybe they would still be alive now, and my baby would probably be eating adult food now, running around and calling me daddy. I don’t know if I won’t be the best of dads, but I know I would love and cherish the child with my life. I blinked back the tears in my eyes and closed them.
- I could still remember when she gave me the news of her pregnancy; it came as a shock and surprise to me because it wasn’t what we planned. We were just fucking each other, but it happened, and it made me the happiest man on earth. I put a ring on her finger immediately. I don’t want my baby out of wedlock, and we both decided not to check the gender so we could be surprised on that day, but the day never came, and I didn’t get to know my baby’s gender or hold my baby up in my arms.
- The sound of the helicopter touching the ground jerked me out of my thoughts. I looked around the familiar city of Rome from my rooftop as I got out; the workers in the house were waiting for me as I stepped out.
- “Welcome Master.” They greeted.
- “It’s good to you as well.” I walked down to the house and went into my bedroom.
- I showered and changed into a new outfit, though you could hardly tell since it’s the same color of black shirt and black pants I’m always wearing. I went downstairs and headed to a casino in town; my soldiers went with me. I joined the men at the table to deal; there's a lot of ladies around dressed in barely anything, but they do nothing to salivate my hunger. I don’t know what’s wrong with me; these days I’ve been feeling like I need something, but I don’t know what it is. I’m craving something I don’t understand. I played the game and beat them in each round till I was bored and the game couldn’t hold my interest anymore.
- I went back home to my study to nurse a drink. I really need to pull myself together. I stayed till it was dark before going to my room.
- I jolted out of sleep as I scanned my environment, and I breathed out a sigh of relief.
- “Cazzo!” I cursed in Italian and got out of bed. My nightmare kept me awake all night; my wife’s vacant eyes were staring at me as if asking me why I’d gotten them killed.
- I checked the time, and it says eight am. I have spent a week here without a hatch, and I would be leaving tomorrow morning. I haven’t been doing much ever since I have been here other than exercising and sparing with my soldiers. I wanted to rest and sleep in today, but I don’t think I can get any rest now. I went into my training room and called my men one after the other; we spared till there’s no one else standing to take me on.
- "Stronzo,” I cursed them in Italian and rode out. I went back in to take a cold shower.
- I dressed up, secured my pistol in place, picked up my car keys and wallet, and went downstairs to the dining room. I had my breakfast and then went out with my men, ready to follow me, but I dismissed them. I would prefer to go alone; I need to clear my head.
- “Don, please, let’s go with you. If not all, then two or one.” Ryker, the head of the soldiers, pleaded.
- “There’s no need. I am disguising.” I understand his plight, but I know I can’t be caught unprepared; whoever wants me dead would think twice before doing it.
- I entered the car and drove away. I want to feel normal again, even if it’s just for today. I drive to the beach and park a few miles away. I stroll barefoot on the sand. The roar of the waves kept me from my thoughts. I left a few hours later and went back into my car.
- I have been driving around for a while until I saw a local bar, and I packed my car and entered. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been to a place like this. I intended to take my seat at the bar, but I noticed it was full. I took a seat in the corner and ordered a beer when my sight trained on her. It was as if time stood still. I felt a pull towards her, and I know I won’t be leaving without approaching her.
- She’s a stunning redhead beauty; the colour of her hair was striking, but what hooked me was her eyes. They are a pair of innocent eyes that seem to have a mouth of their own and those full lips of hers. I wanted to devour them to know if they were as soft and delicious as they looked. She’s got huge tits and I can tell she’s curvy from her hips; I want to run my hands over them. I sipped my beer as I watched her from the corner, where I sat down, not a bit ashamed for checking her out. Our eyes met for a brief moment, and she looked away and turned back to her friends. I sucked in my breath at the sight of her backside; she’s got ass every woman would be envious of. I want her for myself. It’s been so long since I’ve felt this rush of excitement, and I want to know where this will lead me.
