Chapter 3

  • ARELLA'S POV
  • I scoffed as I clocked my gun and pointed it right at Ciel.
  • "Do you really think I care?" I noticed his grip on Cassiel tightened but I fucking cared less.
  • I was the Mafia boss, what makes him think that I care for this woman enough to bend to his stupid demands?
  • "I'll fucking kill your wife, Arella. Step back!" He threatened and he pressed the gun even harder at the back of Cassiel's head.
  • She whimpered in shock, looking at me with pleading eyes.
  • But I didn't bulge at that, if I backed off because of her, it would label me a weakling and I was not a weakling.
  • "Ex wife." I corrected in a nonchalant tone and Cassiel's face paled along with Ciel.
  • Realization definitely hit Ciel hard that he couldn't use Cassiel against me. He really underestimated who Arella was.
  • "I'll kill her, Arella, don't dare me." Ciel hissed, looking visibly shaken, now that he knew that his plans were probably not going to work. He lost.
  • "Then go on with it!" I snapped at him in impatience.
  • "Or I can give you the lovely pleasure of blowing off both of your brains at the same time." The corner of my lips curled up and Cassiel's eyes widened in shock and disappointment.
  • What was she disappointed at? I threw her out so I definitely have no business with each other anymore and in the past, I hated her to the point that I really wanted to forget the bullet in her brain.
  • ‘ In the past. ' The three words kept replaying in my head as I clenched my jaw tight.
  • "Arel-" Cassiel began in a shaky voice but her mouth clamped shut when I sent a deadly glare at her.
  • "Let's get done with this shit." I hissed in anger and I pulled the trigger at Ciel.
  • The bullet didn't meet him as he successfully ducked, throwing him and Cassiel on the ground.
  • "F*ck you Arella." Ciel cursed, things were not going in his favor and he had unconsciously let Cassiel go.
  • She immediately took that opportunity to get away from his hold as she crawled to another side of the bar.
  • I caught sight of her escaping but I ignored her and gave her the chance to escape and focused my attention on the bastard I came for.
  • His other men that was also in with us pointed his gun at me but I kept a calm facade as I spoke.
  • "Pull the trigger and he's dead."
  • He contemplated whether he should shoot as he glanced at Ciel who was already standing on his feet.
  • "You think you're smart. I'll kill you today." He swore under his breath and before I knew it, some men began to come out from the longue. He must have probably kept them there.
  • I was definitely smarter as my men came in immediately after. Gunshots erupted as we engaged in an open fire.
  • Ciel was outnumbered and in no time most of his men had already been shot.
  • The fucker saw that he was losing and actually ran away.
  • Ciel was a fucking coward, he left his men in battle and ran away.
  • He was so lucky he was able to escape, the next time I laid my hands on him, there was no escaping.
  • All of his men finally dropped dead and the whole bar was in chaos.
  • "Take care of the bodies. Call the doctor to tend to our men who got injured." I instructed Pierce, as he came to meet me for any more orders.
  • "Okay, boss." He replied, nodding at me. I took one look at the bar that was in a total mess, before making my way out.
  • I found myself looking around for Cassiel. She must have successfully come out, because there was no way she would have survived what happened inside the bar.
  • My brows squinted as I finally caught sight of her. She was leaning against a car, looking utterly shaken, but she was not alone. She was with a man. The first thought that came to my mind was he was one of Ciel's men and I immediately held out my gun to shoot.
  • ‘ You want to protect her now? But you didn't when Ciel held a gun to her head. ' A voice criticized in my head.
  • I scoffed and was about to pull the trigger when the man spoke.
  • "Are you okay?" He placed his hands affectionately on Cassiel's shoulders as she nodded.
  • "I'm fine." She muttered in a low voice.
  • "We should go to the hospital, so you can get a checkup-" He suggested. That was when it dawned on me that he was her lower.
  • Or I thought he was.
  • "What a whore!" I scoffed in disdain, taking a step closer to them.
  • "Are..lla" Cassiel stammered in fear the moment she saw me and that got me very pissed.
  • She looked so calm a moment ago, why was she now looking tense?
  • "You didn't even waste a moment to jump to the next available man." I uttered in a snippy tone, my voice dripping with sarcasm.
  • "Arella, what are.."
  • "Shut your mouth!!" I snapped at her.
  • "Don't you dare call my name with such a disgusting mouth?" I added.
  • "Hey man, chill off will you" The man took a step towards me but he was held back by Cassiel.
  • "Derica, it's okay." She said to him softly as she shot me a glare. There was nothing but hatred in her eyes. Pure hatred.
  • She has always had that look in her eyes each time she looked at me, but this time, it was different.
  • She was even holding him. My blood began to boil and the urge to blow his head off grew stronger.
  • "Who does this loser think he is to call you a whore?"
  • That was it. That broke the last thread of restraint holding me back and I pulled the trigger at him.
  • I shot at Derica, the sound of the gunshot echoed through the air.
  • But in the fraction of a second before the bullet could find its mark, Cassiel threw herself between them. She took the bullet for her lover. Her fucking lover.
  • The bullet hit her square in the shoulder, everything was in a silent.
