Chapter 2
- CASSIEL'S POV
- "I think it's best if you calm down Cassiel. Drinking won't help" Derica said as he tried to calm me down.
- "I can't," I replied in a croaked voice as I took another gulp of the drink. I winced, feeling the burning taste at the back of my throat.
- This was bad, why? I was fucking pregnant. But here I was, in a bar, drinking. It was really bad for the health of my baby. But I just couldn't help it, drinking seemed to be the only next remedy.
- Grandfather was dead, like gone for good and I was going to miss him.His grandson must have been an asshole, but he was not and I was really shocked that he passed.
- "But you have to. The baby" Derica pointed out as I blinked my eyes repeatedly.
- "The baby is going to be fine," I said in a low voice as Derica grabbed the bottle from me.
- "Enough! You shouldn't drink anymore. We must leave, it's getting late." He snapped, grabbing the bottle from my hand with a forceful yank.
- His grip tightened on my wrist as he pulled me up from the chair, ignoring my protests. With a sharp glance, his voice rough, "Let's go. Now!"
- Just when we stood up from our chairs and were about to leave. About six men dressed in black walked into the bar.
- We froze as they were all armed.
- I was still trying to decipher what was going on when they began to shoot.
- "Get down!!" Derica yelled, pushing me under a table as the whole bar turned into a stampede.
- The sound of gunfire filled the air, the piercing crack of bullets and the terrified screams of people echoing through the bar as chaos erupted around us.
- I felt Derica's strong hands guiding me to safety, his body shielding mine as we crouched beneath the table.
- "Stay down!" he hissed, his voice low and urgent as he peered out from beneath the table, his eyes searching for an escape route.
- The room was filled with smoke and the stench of gunpowder, making it hard to see or breathe.
- "There's no way out. We have to stay down." Derica said as we both held each other tight. If we came out, there was a Chance of a bullet hitting us.
- We remained under the table for what felt like an eternity, and then the table we were hiding under was suddenly kicked with full force, sending the table in another direction.
- I yelled in fear as my eyes came in contact with a huge man holding a gun. The bar was quiet, with no soul around, but there were signs of blood.
- "Stand up," He ordered in a cold voice, but I remained unmoving.
- "Stand up before I blow your heads off!" He yelled, causing Derica and me to scream as we both stood up on our feet.
- A man appeared from behind, pointing at me, "If you make a noise I'll kill you." The one holding a gun threatened as he basically dragged Derica out of the bar.
- ….
- ARELLA'S POV
- The tires of my car came to a loud screech as I stopped in front of a bar.
- I was going to blow that fucker, Ciel's head off today. He actually thought he could dare me; now, he wouldn't even know what hit him.
- I had been keeping my tabs on him and I knew that he was currently inside the bar, I did not care about what he was doing inside, all I cared about was blowing his head off.
- "Boss." One of my men began.
- "Wait outside" I instructed bringing out my gun, that fucker had a hand in my grandfather's death and he was definitely going to pay.
- "Bastard" I hissed.
- I ferociously gunned down his men outside the bar, and made my way to the bar, I would shot that bastard just like the dead bodies of his men staining the floor with their blood.
- The moment I stepped in, suddenly realized something was off. An uneasy tension hung in the air. The door slammed shut behind me, and I spotted him across the room—Ciel, my rival mafia boss.
- "What a pleasant surprise" Ciel's lips curled up annoying the fuck out of me.
- Our eyes locked, he already pulling a gun. The first shot rang out, I sidestepped just in time, the bullet shattered the mirror behind me, sending shards of glass raining down. I cursed under my breath, gripping my gun tightly.
- As soon as gunshots, my crew burst through the door, surrounding him in an instant.
- "You've got nowhere to run. I will kill you, bastard!" I gritted my teeth as I pointed my gun right at him.
- "I think you're going to have to take back your words."
- "You wish." I smirked and then froze when he suddenly pulled out a lady from behind him. He was holding her by her hair and she looked like she was in pain.
- I didn't notice that before, but that was not the issue. The problem was that I recognized the woman.
- Cassiel. I almost fall apart my lips when seeing her there, in the hands of that bastard.
- "Get-"
- "One more step and your wife would be history." He threatened with a smirk on his face as he pressed a gun to Cassiel's temple.
