Chapter 14 Dinner Was Delicious

Robert hummed a reply, they went to the counter to pay for what they had picked. Robert was busy with the bills while Ruth's eyes wandered around, she suddenly froze on her spot when she saw someone she didn't expect to see, he stood holding a lady's hand. They looked happy and so much in love, she felt a light spank on her chest.
Before she could take her eyes off him, he caught her staring at her. The man looked surprised to see her, Ruth avoided his gaze and focused on Robert.
After clearing their bills, Robert took the grocery bags to his motorcycle, he helped her get on and he did the same. The drive back to the house wasn't so peaceful, Ruth's head was running a marathon of thoughts, she didn't know why she still felt that spank in her chest.
