Chapter 5 Qualification

  • Inside the dean's office.
  • Except for Yan Anmo and Dean Zhang, everyone else had left.
  • "Yan Anmo, are you really planning to stand here all night?" Dean Zhang glanced at the time. He didn't want to continue, but Ding Shan's mother had called, demanding for an explanation, so he had no choice but to stay here with Yan Anmo.
  • "No matter what, your guardian will have to take responsibility for your actions."
  • As soon as these words left his mouth, the door to the office flew open.
  • "I will take responsibility for my girl," Xi Zhiheng stepped out from the shadows. His sombre face resembled a thousand-year-old iceberg as his dark eyes burned with fiery flames of anger.
  • "You...you..." Dean Zhang was dumbfounded as he glanced at the door that had been kicked open. As he looked into Xi Zhiheng's murderous eyes, he suddenly felt a little frightened.
  • Yan Anmo's stubborn expression immediately melted into a pool of water as tears uncontrollably rolled down from the corner of her eyes.
  • She began to panic and fear. She was afraid that Xi Zhiheng would abandon her because of this mistake, just like the way that her biological parents abandoned her all those years ago.
  • "Let's go home," Xi Zhiheng glanced at Yan Anmo. It was impossible to decipher whether he was happy or angry from his voice.
  • "Are you her guardian?"
  • "Did you know that your child hurt her classmate today?"
  • "She may have good grades, but it's still wrong to hit a person. She can't be uncultivated like that. The classmate's parent demanded for an explanation. You..."
  • Dean Zhang's words provoked Xi Zhiheng's anger and ignited his fuse.
  • The man's cold and noble back view looked extra unapproachable under the cool incandescent white lighting, causing one to shudder in fear.
  • He snorted coldy; his tone extremely indifferent.
  • "No one has the right to ask for an explanation from me!"
  • After arriving home, Xi Zhiheng ignored Yan Anmo and returned to his bedroom without any expression on his face.
  • Yan Anmo's eyes were teary as she bit her lip. It felt like someone was squeezing her heart and it was unbearably painful.
  • This was the first time she made Xi Zhiheng this angry.
  • "Miss, go have a hot bath and go to bed. Everything will be better tomorrow," Auntie Liu was Housekeeper Liu's wife and the two of them worked for Xi Zhiheng. Auntie Liu had always liked Yan Anmo, so when she saw her in this pitiful state, her heart ached a little.
  • Yan Anmo nodded blankly and returned to her room.
  • But, she rolled around in bed for a long time, unable to sleep. Seeing that it was almost 2am, she thought for a bit, grabbed her favorite Mickey, and decided to go look for Xi Zhiheng.
  • The light in Xi Zhiheng's room was already off. After all, he must have fallen asleep by that point. Yan Anmo quietly crept into Xi Zhiheng's bed, carefully lifted the corner of his blanket and slowly slid under it.
  • Xi Zhiheng's body emitted a cold fragrance. When Yan Anmo smelled it, it gave her an inexplicable peace of mind.
  • She placed Mickey at the head of the bed, freeing her arms so she could wrap them around Xi Zhiheng's arm. Finally, she let out a sigh of relief and a smile gradually formed on her lips.
  • Xi Zhiheng turned over and naturally hugged Yan Anmo.
  • Yan Anmo was surprised but she held her breath, afraid that she would wake Xi Zhiheng up.
  • Yan Anmo greedily enjoyed this warm and comfortable embrace, as well as the man's charming scent.
  • She couldn't help but fantasize. When her Uncle Seven hugged her like this, was it the same as when she hugged her favorite Mickey? She couldn't separate herself from it, nor could she stop hugging it.
  • When she awoke in the morning, Yan Anmo let out a sneeze. The water from yesterday must have caused her to catch a cold.
  • Xi Zhiheng was bathing in the bathroom at that moment. Without a second thought, Yan Anmo opened the door and walked inside.
  • "Uncle Seven, I think I have a cold," she said as she looked at the man in the bathtub with her half-sleeping eyes. Xi Zhiheng's perfect figure with its defined lines, accompanied by the thin mist in the bathroom, suddenly made the atmosphere a little strange.
  • "Get out," Xi Zhiheng dunked his upper body into the water without looking at her.
  • Yan Anmo's cheeks instantly turned red and she immediately snapped out of her sleepy state. But, she didn't understand why she was like this. Previously, when she saw Xi Zhiheng's body, she never had this strange feeling...
  • "Get out!" Xi Zhiheng looked a little impatient. Yan Anmo did not see his expression clearly, but she understood his commanding tone.
  • Her nose tingled and she left sadly.
  • Xi Zhiheng was definitely blaming her for the incident the previous day and the trouble she caused...Otherwise, her Uncle Seven would never talk to her like that. Never...
  • She sat on the bed, leaned against the headboard, rolled up her legs, and rested her chin on her knees. Whenever she was unhappy, she huddled up like this to search for a sense of security.
  • Not long after, Xi Zhiheng stepped out of the bathroom. But, he still did not say a word to Yan Anmo.
  • "Uncle Seven, I'm sorry..." Yan Anmo suddenly started crying. She then stepped out of bed, ran over to Xi Zhiheng, and hugged him.
  • "I know I was wrong...I shouldn't have fought with my classmates...I shouldn't have forced you to make an appearance..." her choked up words flowed out with her tears.
  • "Don't abandon me, OK...?"
