Chapter 18 Lie
- "Thank you, but this is our family matter," Housekeeper Liu bowed thankfully before he returned to the car.
- Xi Zhiheng seated Yan Anmo inside the car where Auntie Liu had already prepared a bath towel. He wrapped the towel around her body, restraining her from moving.
- "Are you cold?" Xi Zhiheng looked at her painfully.
- Yan Anmo was a little dizzy and her stomach was unbearably painful. She was in so much pain, she curled up her body and rolled around.
- Xi Zhiheng placed the back of his hand against her forehead and his heart ached. She was having a fever.
- "Take us to the hospital!"
- The driver was so frightened, he broke out in a cold sweat. Anything related to Yan Anmo, consequently influenced Xi Zhiheng's mood. When Xi Zhiheng was in a bad mood, they did not dare to even take a deep breath.
- He drove nervously, all the way to the hospital.
- Yan Anmo was sleeping, but still trembling. After a few simple checks, she lay in the VIP room with a drip.
- Xi Zhiheng sat down beside her bed and looked at her as his mind drifted. He was wondering whether his approach had been right.
- "Uncle Seven..." Yan Anmo's sleeping face suddenly moved as she furrowed her brows. It was as though she was dreaming about something frightening.
- She instinctively grabbed onto Xi Zhiheng's hand. Only when she felt his warmth did her eyebrows relax a little.
- But, a few seconds later, she woke up like she was in a lot of discomfort.
- "Anmo, do you still feel unwell?" Xi Zhiheng's worried expression entered Yan Anmo's heart. If this was before, the sight of Xi Zhiheng would have made her feel a lot better. But, after what happened a few hours ago, everything changed.
- She turned her head as tears dripped onto her pillow, but she was still unwilling to speak.
- "Are you still angry at me?"
- "Now that you have a girlfriend, you don't need me anymore," Yan Anmo said quietly as she tried to hide her sobbing voice. "You will definitely abandon me and not want me anymore like those people in the past..."
- "Definitely..." Yan Anmo buried her head in her blanket. The thing she feared the most was being abandoned, but she always had a feeling that Xi Zhiheng was going to abandon her eventually.
- Xi Zhiheng did not expect Yan Anmo to say something like that. She even said it with such certainty. Did someone leak some information to her?
- After she was done talking, Yan Anmo noticed that Xi Zhiheng had no response and it threw her into a complete panic. She was originally waiting for him to coax her, but he did not do anything.
- She flipped over to show her face as she looked at Xi Zhiheng. She looked so pitiful that it made one's heart ache.
- "Uncle Seven..are you really abandoning me...?" the choked up words left Yan Anmo's mouth with difficulty. She wanted so badly for Xi Zhiheng to tell her that he would never abandon her.
- But, Xi Zhiheng simply looked at her without responding.
- From Yan Anmo's perspective, her Uncle Seven was calm with no waves of emotion in his heart. But, only Xi Zhiheng knew that there was a tsunami stirring inside that he didn't want anyone to know about.
- The hope in Yan Anmo's eyes slowly faded and the perseverance in her began to disappear. Feelings of despair began to permeate into her body and her skin trembled with fear.
- Seeing her like this made Xi Zhiheng's heart ache. He clearly knew he was planning to push her out without hesitation in the future and he understood Tang Nianrui's reasoning, but he really couldn't bear to hurt her at that very moment.
- After a long thought, he finally opened his mouth.
- "Silly girl, how could I possibly abandon you?"
- As soon as these words left his mouth, the dark haze in Yan Anmo's heart finally dissipated. She lifted her eyes and looked into Xi Zhiheng's beautiful and exquisite eyes, trying to find any trace of a lie.
- After quite some time, she finally felt relieved.
- "Will you really not abandon me?" Yan Anmo asked carefully again.
- Xi Zhiheng's lips raised slightly as he patted her dotingly on the head, "No."
- But, only he knew that he was lying.
