Chapter 3 You Don’t Seem to Be a Decent Guy
- After taking a few deep breaths, Chloe glared at the man who had kissed her just now despite only meeting her twice. What kind of a f*cking person is he?! He smiles in such a good-looking manner and speaks in such a steady and gentle voice, yet he’s taken liberties with me twice!
- “Mister, w-what exactly do you want…” Her heart thumped continuously at a rate that shot up directly to 180 beats per minute right now. For some reason, she had the spine-chilling feeling of being preyed on by a lunatic. Isn’t it enough that I don’t mind being groped? Is it still not enough that I don’t mind you kissing me in a fit of madness? Let me go!
- “Are you afraid now? Don’t you know how dangerous it is for a lady like you to stand here at night wearing a blindfold?”
- Chloe was stunned. Is he lecturing me? “I-I-I… I’m just working on my career,” she faltered. Damn it, why should I explain myself to him so obediently? This lunatic has taken liberties with me!
- Suddenly, the man turned serious. “Don’t do trades at night anymore. What if you come across a man who harbors evil designs?”
- Chloe curled her lips at his words. Are you a decent guy? Didn’t you take liberties with me as well just now?! “You don’t seem to be a decent guy either, mister,” she said with a look of incredulity. “Give it back to me.” As she spoke, she held out her hand to Morgan with the palm facing up.
- Looking at Chloe’s small palm with great interest, Morgan reached out and grabbed her hand, enveloping her in his warmth at once without relaxing his grip. “If I weren’t a decent guy, I would have pinned you against the tree trunk behind and forced myself upon you just now,” he said while curling his lips into a creepily wicked smile that made her heart palpitate.
- “In that case, y-you may keep it if you like it, Mr. Lunatic. I-I-I don’t want it anymore…” Chloe said while vigorously trying to pull her hand out of his. However, the man grabbed her hand so firmly that she couldn’t shake his hand off at all. Feeling helpless and terrified, she was close to tears; in a fit of desperation, she opened her mouth and sank her teeth into the man’s wrist with all her might!
- “Mmm!” The man gave a groan while slowly relaxing his grip. Withdrawing her hand at once, Chloe ran away swiftly and yelled, “I’ve given it to you for free, Mr. Lunatic. Don’t come for me again!”
- Morgan frowned in pain while clamping a hand over his wrist; there was a distinct and neat bite mark that probably had oozed blood. He thought to himself, That little girl is so cruel.
- Just then, a voice came speaking to him. “You’re here, President Dixon. The speech will begin soon, so let’s go back.” The university lecturer had been searching frantically for Morgan when the latter went missing just minutes before the speech was slated to begin. Luckily, the lecturer found him here and hurried to his side.
- Morgan straightened up and stealthily slipped the thing in his hand into his pocket. Then, he put on a perfectly elegant yet distant smile. “I got it,” he said before striding away.
- Chloe ran back to her dorm, breathless as if a ghost was chasing her from behind. She wasn’t relieved until she entered her dorm room.
- Upon seeing her, Fiona Wilkinson—her impatient roommate waiting to go out—asked puzzledly, “Where have you been, Chloe? Why is your face so red?”
- Stunned, Chloe clapped her hands over her blushing cheeks in a fluster. Trying to distract Fiona from the subject, she replied, “Oh, I went jogging just now, so I’m feeling a bit hot. Haha!” As she spoke, she fanned herself with her hands in a theatrical fashion.
- Luckily, Fiona didn’t get to the bottom of it. She couldn’t help herself as she said excitedly, “Let’s hurry and attend the speech given by the eligible company president. It’s really exciting that the No. 1 pride and a phenomenal figure of Westside University will deliver a speech in person. Let’s go—I have already saved you a seat.”
- Oh, the legendary No. 1 pride of Westside University, Chloe thought to herself. Thinking that she didn’t seem to have anything else to do right now, she decided that she might as well attend the speech to get over her shock.
- “All right, give me a moment,” she replied before going into the toilet. However, she was shocked as soon as she looked at herself in the mirror. Sh*t, my lips have swelled up so much that they look like two delicious sausages! She let out a grunt with a vexed and indignant frown.
- “Are you done, Chloe? The lecture will begin soon.”
- “Yeah, I’m done! I’m coming!” Chloe immediately put cold water on her lips before going out quickly.
- The speech had begun when Chloe and Fiona arrived. The auditorium, which was usually almost empty during speeches, was surprisingly packed with people on this day; even the corridors were full of sitting people. With a good, hard look, Chloe found a huge disproportion between the male and female students present for the speech, for there were far more female students than male ones!
- Chloe and Fiona quietly groped their way to their seats, but due to the sheer number of people present, Chloe tripped over someone’s feet and fell flat on her face right away. The instant she fell, she couldn’t stop herself from crying out, “Ah!”
- Ouch… It hurts! Puckering up her pretty face in pain, Chloe massaged her knees while feeling wretched. However, the instant she looked up, she suddenly discovered that everyone in the auditorium was staring silently at her with different looks in their eyes. “Uh… well… I’m sorry…”
- “I didn’t expect this student to be so polite as to present us with a pleasant surprise as soon as she joined us,” bantered a melodious male voice humorously. In an instant, the initially awkward atmosphere in the silent auditorium warmed up, for everyone roared with laughter at his words!
- Chloe stared wide-eyed in disbelief at the noble and elegant man standing on the platform; he looked brawny and muscular in a well-tailored black suit. It’s him! It’s actually him! He’s the man who was a phenomenon in Westside University back then!
- He looked noble and distant with his dashing eyebrows, starry eyes, as well as the charming and harmless smile that curved his lips. Chloe thought to herself, Who would have expected him to be a lunatic who isn’t quite right in the head? Besides, this guy ‘molested’ a female university student on the hill behind the campus just now!
- While Chloe was surprised and dumbstruck, the melodious and gentle voice spoke again with apparent concern. “Are you all right, miss? Can you stand up?”
- Sensing that someone poked her shoulder repeatedly, Chloe sharply came to her senses. “Huh?”
- “C-Can you stand up, Chloe?” Fiona felt so embarrassed; it surprised her that Chloe, who was always meticulous, was so careless on this day.
- Coming to her senses, Chloe glared furiously at the cunning man on the platform, only to be greeted with a suggestive wink from him. If it weren’t for the time and place, she really wanted to throw up.
- After averting her eyes scornfully, she openly gave the lunatic a disdainful look and calmly stood up, preparing to leave. I’d rather die than listen to his speech!
- “Hey, hey, hey! What are you doing? Don’t you want to listen to his speech?”
- “That’s right! Do you know that you’re affecting us a lot?”
- “That’s right. Sit down if you want to listen to his speech. Don’t waste our time!”
- Standing in the middle of the crowd in an awkward position, the innocent Chloe became the target of everyone’s verbal attacks. She thought aggrievedly to herself, What have I done wrong to deserve being treated this way by everyone?!
- Just then, the man spoke again. “Have a seat, miss. Even if I’m not a good speaker, please show me a bit of respect by listening to my speech. Let’s not disturb other students, all right?”
- “That’s right!”
- “Well said, sir!”
- “We love you!”
- Only then did Chloe realize that these female students were here for this lunatic!
