• Toward the end, Chloe had no idea how she managed to fall asleep. She was utterly drained and exhausted, and she could not even lift her toes or her fingers. It was as though her entire body had melted into a puddle.
• Seeing that she had fallen asleep on the couch, Morgan smiled and bent over to carry her gently in his arms. He gazed down at her lovingly as he carefully brought her into his room and laid her down on the bed.
