Chapter 8 You're a Big Bad Villain

  • Bianca had always been a bit withdrawn since she was a child. She rarely spoke.
  • She expressed her emotions only in short, soft babyish tones.
  • For a long time, Shaun thought there might be something wrong with her ability to speak. Therefore, he took her to see many doctors.
  • It wasn't until later that they found out the little girl had closed herself off emotionally and was unwilling to talk.
  • This broke Shaun's heart, but there was nothing he could do. All he could do was spoil her, give her whatever she wanted, and hope that would make her feel better.
  • Today, she was saying more than ever before!
  • Shaun was both surprised and bewildered.
  • His daughter had merely met Whitney for the first time, yet she was already fiercely protective of her.
  • Shaun tugged at his lips and found it both ridiculous and amusing.
  • Standing outside the gates of Southward House, he asked, "What did I do wrong to her?"
  • The little girl hung her head, refusing to look at him. She mumbled softly, "You were just bad."
  • Her words were unclear and slurred from rarely speaking.
  • However, the underlying stubbornness and dissatisfaction were evident.
  • Daddy was so mean. He treats the pretty lady so harshly.
  • When we were leaving, the pretty lady became cold. What if I never got to see her and the boys again?
  • For some reason, just thinking about that made Bianca incredibly sad.
  • She didn't want to face her father anymore. With a sudden burst of energy, she kicked her legs and squirmed, determined to get out of Shaun's arms.
  • Shaun frowned and refused to let go. He warned, "Bianca, don't act out."
  • Bianca wasn't listening. Her face turned red with frustration.
  • She tried to speak, managing only one word, "Down ... down!"
  • Worried he might hurt her if he held on too tightly, Shaun reluctantly let her down.
  • "What's wrong?" He asked, trying to be patient.
  • The little girl didn't want to talk to him. As soon as her feet touched the ground, she darted forward, refusing to get in the car.
  • Standing by the car, Matthew was stunned. He asked, "What's Miss Bianca up to ...?"
  • Shaun furrowed his brows tightly and was just about to call out to his daughter. After running only a few steps, Bianca tripped and fell.
  • With a thud, Bianca hit the ground hard, scraping her hands and knees.
  • She was in pain. Her eyes instantly filled with tears from the pain.
  • "Bianca!"
  • Shaun panicked. He rushed over, his heart aching at the sight.
  • He hurriedly scooped her up and held her close, gently soothing her.
  • "Don't cry, Bianca; it doesn't hurt. Daddy will blow on it, and it'll feel better. Be good."
  • Bianca's eyes shimmered with tears and were on the brink of falling, yet she turned her head away stubbornly.
  • Shaun sighed at how headstrong she was, and he had no choice but to admit defeat.
  • "Bianca, don't be mad. It's Daddy's fault. Daddy shouldn't have ... been mean to that lady. I was wrong. We need to tend to your injury now. Let's go home, okay? Otherwise, Daddy will be very sad."
  • Bianca pressed her lips but stopped trying to run away, though she still didn't speak.
  • Shaun picked her up and carried her back to the car.
  • Once they returned to the main house, the first thing he did was tend to his daughter's injuries.
  • Bianca, however, was still sulking. She remained silent and ignored Shaun. The girl barely touched her dinner that night.
  • Shaun tried to coax her, but nothing worked, leaving him frustrated.
  • But he didn't indulge her too much. He let her be, knowing that before bed she would still have her milk.
  • ...
  • At Southward House, as evening approached, Draven's men arrived just as the sun was setting.
  • The villa's security system, including the door locks, underwent a complete overhaul at the same time.
  • Next time, Shaun wouldn't be able to barge in so easily.
  • Feeling reassured, after Whitney had her dinner, she headed to the study.
  • As for Shaun having a daughter, she did her best to ignore how it made her feel and didn't show the slightest sign of discomfort.
  • However, while she could ignore it, the boys couldn't.
  • The brothers gathered in the game room, but none of them felt like playing.
  • Andy crossed his arms and wore an expression of indignation.
  • "I can't believe it! That adorable girl actually turned out to be that wicked man's daughter!"
  • Skylar was more composed than his younger brother. He wore a serious expression that overshadowed his anger.
  • "So, after Mommy divorced that evil man, he had another child with someone else?"
  • "That must be it!"
  • Andy fell silent for a moment and felt a bit uncomfortable inside.
  • "Bianca is so sweet, but that wicked man is awful. He's so cold and always talks so harshly!"
  • They felt awful for their mother and frustrated with themselves. In their frustration, the boys shifted the blame to Shaun.
  • "Hmph! Since he bullied Mommy, why don't we bully him back?"
  • Andy was rubbing his palms and itching for a little payback.
  • Skylar's expression turned solemn, and she nodded firmly. "Yeah! Let's stick up for Mommy and teach him a lesson!"
  • The two quickly hatched a plan. After their baths, they sat down with their computers and teamed up to hack Shaun's phone and plant a virus.
  • Meanwhile, fresh out of the shower, Shaun glanced at his phone. As he checked his phone, he noticed a small animated turtle crawling across his screen, accompanied by a message.
  • "Shaun Marshall is a big bad villain!"
  • Shaun's hand, drying his hair with a towel, became frozen. His expression darkened instantly.
  • He tapped the screen several times, but the phone remained unresponsive.
  • Had someone hacked his phone and installed a virus? Which hacker was bold enough to mess with him?
  • Grinding his teeth, Shaun immediately opened his laptop to start counter-hacking.
  • As he worked, he even set up anti-tracking measures.
  • The sound of rapid typing echoed through the spacious room as the battle stretched on for a full hour.
  • Finally, Shaun made some headway.
  • The hacker was somewhere in the country.
  • His gaze darkened. He was just about to pinpoint the exact location when his computer suddenly went black.
  • Immediately after, his phone screen lit up, then everything returned to normal.
  • This meant that the hacker had successfully withdrawn.
  • Bang ...
  • Shaun slammed his fist onto the desk, his expression glum.
  • He had never encountered such a skilled opponent before.
  • It felt like a prank. The hacker had merely planted a virus and done nothing else.
  • Sitting in his chair, Shaun stayed silent for a long time, but his curiosity had been piqued.
  • The hacker was clearly talented and had captured his interest!
  • After a moment of contemplation, Shaun called his assistant and explained what had happened.
  • "Get the company's security team on this and make sure they track it down. I want that person found!"
  • Matthew replied immediately, "Understood, boss."
  • ...
  • The boys stretched their necks and wrists, feeling as if sparks were crackling inside their bodies.
  • They high-fived and cheered in excitement.
  • "Yeah, we nailed it!"
  • Just as they finished celebrating, the door suddenly opened.
  • Whitney stood in the doorway with a glass of water, looking curious.
  • "Why aren't you asleep yet?"
  • She had come downstairs to get a glass of water because she was thirsty.
  • On her way back, she heard noise coming from their room and decided to check it out.
  • The boys instantly switched to their innocent mode, replying in their sweet voices, "Mommy, we're still adjusting to the new place. It's hard to sleep."
  • Whitney's heart melted at the sight of her adorable boys.
  • "Alright, come on, let's all sleep together."
  • Their eyes lit up with joy, and they eagerly followed her back to the bedroom.
