Chapter 1 The Escape

• An uproar steals the peace of Whitewood when four gamma wolves pulled my mother out in chains to execute her for poisoning the alpha king. I kept forcing myself through the crowd to get to Susan before she gives the order to behead my mom.
• "Let go of me!" I yelled at a stranger who pulled me back with his hands so strong on me I could not resist "There is nothing you can do now. If you are seen, they are going to kill you too as they killed your father and about to do same to your mother!" He scolded me and then I noticed the silence. I looked over and watched as my mother's head rolled on the ground accompanied by blood spills, then Susan's voice echoed,
• "This is what happens to traitors, the penalty for betraying the pack. Whoever will also stand to oppose my leadership and that of my house will meet the same fate as the Harveys. I want all members of the Harvey family dead. Find every last one of them!"
• Strength left me as I witnessed the death of my mother.
• Not quite long, I witnessed my father being stabbed to death by the members of the pack after being accused of having a hand in the death of the alpha of blood moon pack. I also saw Cersei Riva who has been against my relationship with my boyfriend standing beside Susan with a smile on her face as she watched my mom die. I knew I was next.
• "Come with me or they are going to kill you the minute you're found." the stranger said to make me look at him. This time I recognized he was no stranger at all. His name is Gregory, a close friend of my dad. I followed him immediately, grieved and filled with a desire for revenge. My eyes swam in tears as we came few blocks away from the royal castle. He started cutting my long hair short. "Listen to me Ariel, you must get away from Whitewood as far as you can. The Walters are going to kill you if they find out you are alive."
• "I heard her say so." I mumbled.
• "Good. You can never trust anyone here, not even your boyfriend, Salvador. I know you love him but you have to stay alive for the sake of your family's future."
• "What about my elder brother, Daniel?" with a whimpering voice I asked unable to hold back my tears. "He was also executed some minutes before your mom. Didn't you see?" I shook my head and remained speechless. He continued "Look, the only family you have now is your elder brother in the South. Your sister will be beheaded anytime soon and you know she will not be favored in court trials. I am sorry but you have to get to Winsburg."
• "But you know my dad was innocent. You know the beta has no hand in poisoning the alpha."
• "Your father's loyalty can not be questioned but from what I see, the leadership of blood moon pack has been corrupted. I think the Luna, Susan precisely, has a hand in the Alpha's death. If I were you, I will leave immediately. You have to make it to blackwater before nightfall."
• "Thank you, Gregory." I appreciated placing my hand on his hand. "You don't have to thank me. I should have followed you but it's too risky for me. Until I prove your family's innocence, don't return to Whitewood. Now go!" He charged me further.
• Tears welled up in my eyes, my heart ached for leaving Salvador even if he was Susan's son. I knew Cersei Riva will be opportuned to have Salvador since I was going to be gone like forever. Cersei has envied me for being the only girl he desires. I fled for my life, wishing I had the chance to see Salvador once more. Before now, my mom informed me via a phone text telling me to never trust Salvador because he would tell his mom anything and I trusted my mother. She also told me my dad has been framed... and I should leave whitewood earlier than now. While I kept running, my stomach started hurting badly because of my pregnancy. Trust is, I have no idea whose father the child I was carrying was.
• "Take me to blackwater. Please drive carefully, I am pregnant." I said politely to the driver who stopped at my wave. He drove off immediately and after two checkpoints, to get through the third one was a problem.
• "Turn around sir. We've just received an order not to allow any car to leave Whitewood." An officer, probably a zeta commanded.
• "Please let us through. She is pregnant."
• "I am Ariel and I need to get to blackwater." I added.
• "Aren't you Ariel of the Harvey family?" His face contorted. I quickly turned and looked at the driver in a way that made him know I was. He drove off without waiting for me to tell him to. The driver must have known I have people seeking to kill me and they were going to kill us both without considering he was just a driver. The officer fired several rounds at us before the driver got away and a few distance away, I felt an unbearable pain on my left arm. I have been shot. The only thing I knew was that I was in a moving vehicle and we were being chased. I could hear cars horning but I couldn't tell how far off they were because of the pain I was feeling. "Please don't let them get to us." I cried without letting go of my bleeding arm. Before he could speak, another vehicle collided with ours from the left side of a T-junction.
• My head ached at first, then a whistling sound followed by massive gunfires. My vision was still blurry when someone opened the car door. "Give me your hands, you have to get out of the car now!" I knew it wasn't the driver. The driver was dead already dead and his head was resting on the steering wheel. The shattered glasses, gunshots and smoking bumper left me no choice than to go with the stranger who was trying to pull me out. My stomach was hurting real bad and I felt the baby in my womb kicking at some point. I followed the young man into another car and he drove off immediately but more cars kept chasing and firing at us, "please I am heading to blackwater. My life is in your hands, do not let them get to me. I am Ariel." I muttered with tears running down my eyes, my sweat was thick as blood, I was dying of taste, my lungs were almost void of air and the pain I felt grew more severe. I was already losing so much blood, I fainted upon hearing him say "I know who you are and you are in my custody now. Hang on."
