Chapter 29
- The carpeted floor rendered my steps noiseless, though it meant it's silent enough for me to hear my heart beating. A frantic, loud rhythm that contrasted with the lack of sound in the room. My eyes automatically shifted towards the bathroom door, which was left ajar. That meant Aiden couldn't be there as well. Where did he go?
- Distress began coiling in the pit of my stomach; hands wrung together. It started heavily snowing outside for some time now. How could he leave me like this? What if something happened to Aiden? I thought to myself.
- A lump lodged in my throat. Even though the Alpha hated me and the sight of me, I worried about him. My biology might be the reason or my omega who cannot hate him for some reason. Sitting idly in my bed for a while, I looked out of the window, shivering as the cold gust of wind blew by. Fortunately, the room I was in, had thick walls, more than that, a heater in the corner of the room. Maybe that's why I felt better than last night, body adjusting to the temperature around.
