Chapter 6
- Mia's p.o.v
- I stood watching the ladies happily chat for some reason. I was curious to know what they were talking about, sadly they didn't seem to like me.
- “What's wrong this time?” Meg asked from behind.
- I turned and shrugged. I seriously had no idea why they were acting like little kids in the pack's dining hall, it was rare to see them this happy and loud. No one was working and Margret was nowhere to be seen.
- “And to think I woke up late,” I muttered to myself softly.
- “What did you say?” She asked with a smile.
- “I don't know what happened either, when I woke up I found them chatting like this. Wait, how on earth are you this late today?” I asked.
- “I overslept since you didn't wake me up.” She answered while pouting.
- “I'm sorry,” I answered softly.
- “But Mia, haven't you heard?” She asked seriously.
- “Heard what?” I asked back.
- “Yesterday Margret announced that the twins have finally chosen a date when they are going to pick their Luna. At first, they chose the week, but now they have chosen a day.” She answered with a smile.
- For some reason, my heart was rapidly beating.
- “When will it be?” I asked Softly.
- “On the ninth.” She answered.
- I felt my knees weaken and my head ache.
- “Why nine?” I asked in nearly a scream.
- The noise immediately died. I didn't care anymore if I was yelled at by the other ladies or not. I felt anger like never before. Why the hell did they select the exact date as my birthday, the coincidence was too much.
- “Mia, calm down, everyone is looking at you right now.” Meg whispered.
- “I don't care! Why nine, why not some other day!” I yelled in anger.
- “Who the hell do you think you are?” an annoying voice asked.
- I turned and looked at Brit. I was expecting her to answer back since she played the role of a self-elected leader. She was pretty with a great body and height, everyone knew that she was the one going to be selected. The girl was what we called a perfect omega, whatever she did came out nicely done. A lot of men were after her, but she turned them down with her usual boastful reply. “You are not my type. And your status is below my standard.”
- Despite being rude and harsh with her response, the men seemed to like her even more. She had them in the palms of her hands.
- “And who the hell do you think you are yourself?” I asked back seriously.
- She looked at her friends in shock, then moved closer.
- “Did you just answer me back?” She asked loudly.
- “I knew you were dumb. But I had no idea you were deaf too.” I answered calmly.
- “Do you want to die!” she screamed on top of her voice.
- “When will you ever act your age?. You know, it's annoying that you whine like a little brat every time someone answers you back. Learn to mind your own damn business and grow up!” I screamed back.
- She angrily lifted her hand to slap me. I held it in mid air and twisted it. She screamed and went down on her knees while trying to pull it back.
- “Just because I humble myself in front of any high up it doesn't mean I'm weak, I will gladly take care of trash like you any time I feel like. And this warning goes to anyone of you dumb bitches, next time you dare act all tough and cross my path, I won't hesitate to give you a piece of me!” I screamed as they all looked at me with fear.
- I wasn't a ruthless gangster or anything. It's just that my father was one of the best fighters, who taught me a few moves to protect myself if one day something would happen. I was happy that I took the lessons seriously because it was paying off.
- “Brit, you should always know your place.” I said seriously as she continued to scream and struggle.
- “Mia let her go.” Meg whispered.
- “I don't feel like it.” I answered.
- “Please.” She said quickly.
- She sounded nervous for some reason.
- I looked at the ladies and noticed that their gazes were lowered to the ground.
- Their reaction said it all. A high up was close by. I quickly let go of Brit's hand and looked around. When I saw no one was around, I breathed out in relief.
- “Lower your eyes.” Meg whispered through gritted teeth.
- I was about to refuse but stopped when I looked up and saw the twins on the stairs. One was leaning against the wall while the other stood upright next to him. Their eyes were set on me.
- What shocked me was the fact that one of the twins' had a smirk across his face.
- I was expecting them to growl at me or punish me for mistreating my fellow pack member. But they were just standing there with the exact opposite reaction of what I had thought they would do.
- I found myself smiling and admiring the one with a smirk. They were both very handsome, but the one who looked serious was giving off an unfriendly aura. The one with a smirk made my heart beat rapidly. I knew it was crazy, but I just couldn't look away. His beautiful blue eyes made him even sexier.
- “Lower your eyes.” Meg whispered again.
- “Why should I when the twins are standing right there looking all handsome and sexy.” I answered in a daze.
- The serious twin stood upright with a raised brow.
- The gasps and murmurs snapped me out of my daze.
- I quickly turned and ran out of the room in fear.
- How was I so stupid?. Never had I ever thought a day like this would come. What I did was unreasonable.
- I stopped running for a minute to catch my breath.
- “Are you that desperate for death?'' Meg asked loudly behind.
- I turned and looked at her. She was panting and trying to breathe properly too.
- “I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. I don't know what came over me. It's like I was possessed by a ghost, I swear.” I answered loudly.
- “How could you just say that to them?. Everyone is talking about your disrespect. If Margret hears about this, you are dead meat!" She exclaimed.
- “I know, I was wrong! I seriously had no idea what came over me, I'm scared as hell right now.” I answered loudly.
- “My gosh, what should we do now, there is no going back. The deed is done.” She said sadly.
- I bit my lower lip and brushed my fingers through my hair. I was going to be dead alright, and what's worse was that it was going to be before finding my mate.
