• My tongue feels like cotton in my mouth and my limbs feel like lead when I come to. In books and movies there's always the moment of confusion and disorientation but I don't have that. I know exactly what happened to me. I can still feel Julien's hands around my throat. I can still see the hatred in his eyes as he plunged the needle into my neck and I remember the feel of his arms around my semi-conscious body. Above all I remember his dark laugh and the words he said to me.
