Chapter 14 Desperate Escape

- I could hear muffled voices from the door to Daddy’s office. Gio’s laughed vibrated through my body and caused my heart to beat out of my chest. I fidgeted with the hem of my dress for a second before bending down with a wince and working on the strap to my expensive heeled shoes. I knew that if I had any chance of escaping, I would need to be as quiet as I possibly could and that meant taking off my loud heels. The clicking of the shoes against the marble floors would give me away in an instant, it’s best to be barefoot. I quietly slide the shoes off my top slender ankles and push them gently under the bench, watching the door the entire time. I hear the clinking of glasses and more laughter so I knew to they’ve just settled. Hopefully, it will be a while before they notice I’m missing.
