• I could hardly believe what I was hearing. Did she really think they could challenge me? Who the hell does she think she is? Emily may be an Alpha now, but she seems to think that title gives her the right to do whatever she pleases. How dare she try to take what’s mine?
• I watched the council carefully as they deliberated on the test. My heart raced with anxiety, but outwardly, I kept my composure. How was I supposed to cope with this? I couldn’t allow them to go through with it. I might have accepted the other way, but now… how in the world will I manage this?
