Chapter 6 Kicked Out Of Kindergarten
- Silvana's POV:
- I was at the airport's fast-food restaurant, confronting the werewolf who was possibly the father of my child.
- Ring! Ring!
- My phone suddenly rang. I looked down and saw that it was my second son calling.
- A wave of panic hit me. It was school time, and Moonix usually wouldn't call me. at this hour.
- I quickly stepped back and answered. the call.
- “Mommy, I'm going home now.” Moonix's soft voice came through the line.
- “Why?” I instinctively lowered my voice too.
- “The teacher wants me to leave. She said if I don't go, they'll have to close the kindergarten,” Moonix said with a hint of grievance.
- Anger flared up instantly. My darling was being kicked out of kindergarten!
- I paid the tuition fees. How dare they throw my child out?
- Without hesitation, I muttered a quick instruction to Horatio and rushed out the glass door.
- Darling, I'm coming!
- Leaving Sunrik by Horatio's side should be fine. Besides trusting the werewolf's natural affinity for pups, I had an inexplicable trust in Horatio too, believing he could take care of my darling.
- An hour later, I arrived at Stormclaw Pack's kindergarten.
- “Ms. Lorimer.” The teacher apologized, “A few of the warriors from the Alpha's team came by earlier. They said that either your son leaves school, or the kindergarten would have to shut down. After some thought, our principal decided it was best for Moony to go home first.”
- The Alpha is at the hospital, right? How could he possibly intervene in such a trivial matter as a child attending kindergarten? This doesn't make sense.
- I suspected it was the doing of Quinley.
- Only she would be this petty!
- I smiled. “Well, the kids don't really like school anyway. Let's just let them play at home for a few days.”
- “Yes.” The teacher began to praise, “Your sons, Sunny, Moony, and Starry are just too smart. We can't really teach them. Sometimes, when they ask questions, we have to look them up online.”
- “That must be really tough on you, teachers,” I quickly expressed my gratitude.
- “Well, you should go check on the kids.” The teacher glanced at her watch. “They should be home by now.”
- I hurried back to the café in the old Passat. When I went upstairs to the study, I saw Moonix playing on the computer.
- I breathed a sigh of relief.
- I had enrolled my children in the werewolf kindergarten of Stormclaw Pack because it seemed my children had inherited more werewolf blood.
- Sunrik and Moonix both had stronger werewolf traits, with high intelligence and strong physiques, while the youngest, Starson, though also intelligent, had a frail physique like most half-bloods.
- As a half-blood with an unawakened werewolf bloodline, I feared I wouldn't be able to guide werewolf pups properly, so I chose the best werewolf kindergarten on the continent for them.
- And it just so happened that the kindergarten is part of Stormclaw Pack.
- “Moony.” I affectionately patted his fluffy little head. “Are you hungry?”
- “No,” Moonix replied, eyes glued to the red dot on the screen. “Starry is still with Great-grandpa?”
- “Yes, he's playing there for a bit.”
- “Sunny's location is also moving toward there.”
- “He's in Horatio's car. Horatio is on the way to the hospital to see his grandfather.”
- “So, how did the talk with Daddy go?”
- “Not well,” I admitted. “He refuses to acknowledge you.”
- “Hmph!” Moonix puffed out his little cheeks. “Jerk!”
- “Ha!” I burst out laughing. “He seems nice. I don't think he's a jerk.”
- Any man who was kind to pups couldn't be all that bad.
- “Then why doesn't he acknowledge what he did? We're three years all, but he refuses to acknowledge us!”
- “Well, it's not confirmed yet, right?” I scratched my head. “Mommy's a bit confused too...”
- Horatio had just denied that the pups were his.
- It was said that strong werewolves like Horatio, who were close to the Alpha rank, have a natural bloodline resonance. They could supposedly tell if a child was theirs even while the child was still in the mother's womb. But since I was just a hybrid, and Percival never demonstrated this ability in front of me, I couldn't directly confirm if that was true. If...
- Bang, bang! A loud knocking from downstairs interrupted my thoughts.
- A woman's shrill voice followed. “Silvana, get down here!”
- It was the voice of my wicked stepmother, Lily.
- “Stay upstairs.” I patted Moonix's head. “I'm going to check it out.”
- “Okay.” Moonix nodded. “Call me if you need help.”
- “Yes, boss!” I laughed and ran downstairs.
- My sons were amazing. From the moment they could talk, they occasionally managed to solve problems that I couldn't!
- Now that I think about it, that strong and calm demeanor seemed more like... Horatio!
- “Silvana, you've got a death wish!” My stepmother Lily shouted up the stairs, “Why the h*ll did you offend the high-ranking werewolves of Stormclaw Pack? Now, our Wildfang Pack's only business has been cut off by Stormclaw Pack. How are we supposed to survive? If Quinley hadn't pleaded on our behalf, we'd be starving by now!”
- Quinley?
- It was then that I noticed Quinley had also come.
- She stood at the door in a white dress, smug and haughty, scaring off the customers who wanted to come in for coffee.
- I gripped the railing, leaping down the remaining steps in a single bound.
- “My dear cousin.” Quinley sneered with her arms crossed, “You're a mother now, yet you still act like a Rogue. You're just a small-time café owner in the Werewolf Alliance's safe zone, and you dare offend someone from Stormclaw Pack?”
- How dare Quinley throw her weight around in my territory?
- I hadn't forgotten the humiliation I suffered this morning at Stormclaw Hospital!
- “Would it kill you to keep quiet?” I grabbed Quinley by the chin. “You have no right to speak here, so back off!”
