Chapter 3 Found Daddy

  • Horatio's POV:
  • At the airport of Stormclaw Pack, an adorable voice was heard.
  • “Daddy!”?
  • I paused in my steps, looking toward the source of the voice.
  • A young werewolf pup stood there, dressed in a black suit. He was blocking my path.
  • He had short black hair and captivating dark green eyes. From a distance, the little guy looked like a smaller version of me!
  • There was no one around but me and the warriors guarding me.
  • Who was this werewolf pup calling out to? Could it be me?
  • “Daddy!” The werewolf pup walked closer to me and called out again.
  • Is he really calling me “Daddy”?
  • Horatio, there's a faint bloodline resonance. My wolf started to stir restlessly.
  • Bloodline resonance!
  • Excited, I took a step forward. Ever since I was injured in battle years ago, I had lost the bloodline resonance, but now, there was a faint sign of it returning.
  • Could this pup in front of me be my son, Igantius Battleford, whom my mother has been caring for? Why doesn't he look like the pictures my mother sent me?
  • One of the reasons I returned to Stormclaw Pack was because of my grandfather. My grandfather, Dante Battleford was the Alpha of Stormclaw Pack, and he was now critically ill. A pack without an Alpha could easily fall into chaos. I hadn't slept for three days and nights as I was rushing back from another pack.
  • Another reason was my pup, Igantius.
  • Igantius was born five years ago, the result of a one-night stand with Quinley during my last visit to the Stormclaw Pack. Werewolves never abandoned their bloodline. Despite hating that I made such a mistake, we agreed to raise him when Quinley showed up with our child.
  • Unfortunately, I had spent most of my time away handling pack affairs and hadn't had the chance to bond with my son, who his grandmother had raised.
  • “Little one, who are you?” I asked, puzzled, as I looked at the adorable little werewolf.
  • The werewolf pup's voice was clear and commanding. “Daddy, I'm your son, Sunrik Lorimer.”
  • Horatio, the blood resonance has disappeared. My wolf was somewhat puzzled and agitated.
  • When the werewolf pup spoke, all the sensations vanished. As expected, my excitement calmed down, replaced with a hint of disappointment. The lost ability of a werewolf wouldn't return so easily.
  • This cute little werewolf pup before me said his name was Sunrik, but my pup's name was Igantius. He must have mistaken me for someone else. This could be a lost pup from another family.
  • I crouched down and gently said to him, “Little pup, are you lost? I can take you out and help you find your parents.”
  • “No need to find my mommy. She's waiting for you at Great-grandpa's,” the werewolf pup said calmly. “There's no need to find my daddy either because it's you!”
  • “How could it be me?” I frowned. How could he randomly call me Daddy?
  • The werewolf pup answered seriously, “Look at my face. Isn't it obvious? Do you really need to ask?”
  • I took off my sunglasses and looked carefully at the little werewolf in front of me.
  • Indeed, this little one did bear some resemblance to me.
  • I raised my head and looked at my warriors.
  • The warriors all nodded, unanimously agreeing with the werewolf pup's words.
  • Hey, this werewolf pup really does look a bit like me! Could he be Breccan's child? Breccan is known for being a playboy, having slept with countless women, so it wouldn't be surprising if he left a few kids out there.
  • “But my son isn't you...” I laughed. “You might be Breccan's child. Anyway, you do resemble the werewolf pups of Stormclaw Pack.”
  • “But Mommy said my daddy's name is Horatio Battleford, and it's you in the picture.” The pup showed me an image on his phone.
  • My brows furrowed instantly.
  • Sure enough, the man in the picture was me, taken at Stormclaw Pack's airport before boarding the plane.
  • Over the past few years, I had always kept my whereabouts under wraps. I was constantly surrounded by a pack of warrior bodyguards. Yet, someone managed to capture me so accurately in a photo.
  • Thus, the pup who showed up suddenly must had ulterior motives. Who could it be? Who dares to use a precious werewolf pup to manipulate me?
  • “Who's your mother?” I heard my own voice suddenly turn cold.
  • I absolutely despised being manipulated, especially by women!
  • “Silvana Lorimer,” the werewolf pup answered.
  • Silvana Lorimer?
  • I shook my head. I was certain I didn't know this woman.
  • “Daddy!” The werewolf pup suddenly tugged at my pants. “I'm hungry.”
  • I glanced at his stomach, noticing that the pup's plump little belly had indeed deflated a bit.
  • No werewolf should let such an adorable pup go hungry! My wolf urged me. Regardless of whatever intentions the people behind this werewolf pup had, the pup was innocent. As a future Alpha werewolf, it was my duty to take care of every single werewolf pup.
  • With a headache, I picked up the pup, set him securely on my arm, and patiently asked, “What do you want to eat?”
  • “That!” His chubby little hand pointed at the golden arches logo in front of us.
  • I furrowed my brows. “Fast food isn't good for a child's digestive system.”
  • Give it to him! He's so adorable, he should have whatever he wants. My inner wolf started to howl.
  • My wolf seemed particularly fond of this pup and wanted to fulfill all his requests unconditionally.
  • Reluctantly, I carried the little pup to McDonald's.
  • The werewolf pup was comfortably perched on a child's seat, a drink in one hand and a burger in the other. Swinging his tiny feet, he was the picture of contentment and satisfaction.
  • Under my wolf's guidance, I gently stroked the soft fur atop the pup's head.
  • When he was almost finished eating, I asked, “Do you have your mommy's phone number? I'll have her come pick you up.”
  • The pup accurately and fluently recited a string of numbers.
  • I dialed the number and said directly, “Your son is with me.”
  • “Your scam is too amateurish. I'm not falling for it!”
  • The call was abruptly ended.
  • This woman actually took me for a scammer? This was the first time in my life that anyone had ever mistaken me for a scammer. She would learn the consequences of angering me!
  • Without thinking, I angrily dialed the number again.
  • Before I could speak, the woman beat me to it. “You scammer...”
  • “I'm Horatio Battleford!” I interrupted her. “No matter what your motives are, come here right now if you want your son!”
  • The voice on the other end abruptly stopped. After a moment, it resumed.
  • “Where are you?” The voice on the other end of the phone sounded indifferent.
  • “Your son is hungry and eating McDonald's at the airport!”
