Chapter 16 Osmond Has Me
- They saw Osmond slowly pushing his wheelchair forward.
- “Osmond?” Constance's eyes widened as she stared at him in shock.
- She didn't expect him to come.
- Kieran's eyebrows instantly furrowed. Why is this cripple here?
- Some members of the crowd were confused, while others had a look of contempt.
- After all, Osmond was quite the famous person.
- He was widely known as the dim wit of the Quantrill family in Jadeborough.
- A cold light flashed past Kieran's eyes as he threatened, “I'm warning you, Osmond. You'd better not look for trouble.”
- Osmond ignored him and stared at Constance.
- A sense of security rose in her heart as she watched him get closer to her in his wheelchair.
- However, that feeling was very faint.
- As he stared at her, he uttered in a resolute tone, “We do have an engagement, but we're not married yet, Constance. So, you have the right to choose what makes you happy. If you like him, then I, Osmond Lestrange, won't interfere with your decision and will leave right away. No one can force you to do something you don't like to do.”
- While that stunned Constance, it caused Kieran to frown.
- The crowd was shocked too.
- At that moment, everyone knew Osmond was Constance's crippled fiancé.
- Constance stared at Osmond for a long time. Tears could be seen shimmering in her eyes.
- She was able to see the sincerity in his eyes.
- “Who do you think you're bluffing, Osmond? What are you going to use to protect Constance, huh? With your crippled legs or your wheelchair?” Kieran mocked, causing a lot of people to chuckle.
- “You should have self-awareness of your limitation, Osmond. Tell me, is there anything about you that is better than me? I'm more suited to stay by Constance's side!” When he said that, many people nodded in agreement.
- He was currently wearing a premium white suit, which made him look like a prince charming.
- As for Osmond, while he was pretty handsome, he wore normal clothing and was sitting in a wheelchair.
- Anyone would think Kieran was the better choice for Constance than Osmond.
- The two of them looked better as a couple.
- “Tell me, what do you have?” Kieran asked again when Osmond didn't say anything.
- “He may have nothing, and he can't be compared to you, but at least he has me,” Constance uttered slowly and resolutely before approaching Osmond.
- Then she placed her hands on his wheelchair.
- Everyone was stunned. Is she stupid? Why did she choose to push that crappy wheelchair instead of taking the roses?
- Osmond was touched.
- “You!” Kieran was exasperated.
- “Do you know the saying 'poverty is a common cause of misery for couples?' He can't give you anything. The only thing he can do is drag you down! I know you need to ride a scooter to work every day, even when there's a storm. That's why I bought you a car!” He then stepped forward and snapped his finger in the direction of his present.
- Five or six young men promptly showed up and opened the giant present box.
- Woosh!
- After the present was opened, countless balloons rose into the air.
- Then, a white Mercedes-Benz became visible.
- “Wow, it's the latest model! I heard it cost around sixty hundred thousand.”
- “That's so expensive! I'm so jealous.”
- “Is this woman an idiot? She would rather pick a wheelchair than a Mercedes-Benz?”
- The crowd started roaring.
- “Tell me, Constance. What can he give you? All he can do is make you go to work on a scooter while braving the weather! Is that love? If you ask me, that's just pathetic!” Kieran stepped forward again.
- It was then Constance was at a loss for words because it was true that Osmond could never give her what Kieran could.
- “Can you buy this, Osmond?” Kieran turned to Osmond with a mocking look.
- “I won't buy a piece of garbage like this. It'll be an insult to Constance if she drives it,” Osmond uttered.
- His remark shocked everyone. How can a Mercedes-Benz that costs around sixty hundred thousand not be impressive? Do you think your wheelchair is awesome?
- In response to that, Kieran laughed. Is he stupid?
- “And yet, you can't even buy a 'piece of garbage' like this,” he sneered before turning to Constance. “All you need to do is say yes. Then you can ditch your scooter and drive the car to work.”
- “I don't need it—” Constance replied without even glancing at the white car.
- Beep! Beep!
- Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
- Before she could end her sentence, a sharp engine roar was suddenly heard from afar.
- That unique sound pierced the sky and was extremely pleasant to the ear.
- “Holy crap! A Ferrari 488! That's a luxury car worth millions!”
- “I heard even the lowest spec was four million and eighty thousand. This one looks like it's top of the line though!”
- “A top-of-the-line Ferrari 488 is worth at least four and a half million! It's definitely a luxury car!”
- As the crowd was still in awe of the vehicle, the bright red Ferrari 488 drove toward them.
- The fiery paint made the car look like a ball of flame, shocking everyone who laid their eyes on it.
- “I've finally found you, Mr. Lestrange.” A middle-aged man exited the car and approached Osmond with respect.
