Chapter 67 He Was Kind
- For some reason, Talia was reminded of her childhood. She was scared of thunder, and one day, a thunderstorm occurred while Vincent was away. Talia hid under the bed and cried in fear, and Jasper suddenly opened her room's door and told her coldly, "Sleep with me tonight." And that was why she kept staying with him no matter how much he disliked her. She always remembered the times when he was nice to her. At least he used to be. But now, she just wanted to close this chapter of their lives.
- "Sir, welc—" Madam Nash ruined the atmosphere, so Jasper let Talia go, though he looked upset about it. He changed into his slippers and went upstairs, while leaving Madam Nash looking pale. "I'm so sorry, Miss Carey. I didn't mean it."
- Talia smiled. "It's fine. He's drunk. It's late, so go to sleep." When she went upstairs, she saw Jasper's door ajar, and she went to close it.
