Chapter 178 Beyond a Joke
- Feeling as if she was at Jasper's mercy, Talia was overwhelmed by her insecurities and fear that she was slowly walking right into his trap. Oh man, I'm starting to get confused with fantasy and reality. By the time she woke up, the sky was already dark outside. She then sat up straight and saw Liquorice lying right beside her bed before she rubbed its head with a smile. "That's so kind of you to have accompanied me for the whole day."
- Liquorice licked Talia's hand in a sympathetic manner to flatter the lady. Soon, Talia made a serious promise to the dog. "Relax, buddy. We're not going to abandon you again. In fact, no one will because you're going to be staying here with us from now on."
- Suddenly, she heard the sound of a car from downstairs while Liquorice immediately knew that Jasper was back. Upon seeking Talia's permission, it happily headed downstairs after opening the door by itself with surprising ease, although it was a dog. However, she intentionally stayed behind in the room until it was time for dinner.
