Chapter 7 Answers And Riddles
- Daniel’s P.O.V.
- I feel Hunter’s emotions going haywire, but I hadn’t heard a sound from the kitchen and run in to the kitchen. Aspen quickly tells me through our mind-link what happened and I realize that they don’t understand anything about Hunter’s Lycan.
- Hunter slowly calms down as she sits on my lap and I am glad Gabe took the time to see how she takes her coffee. I can get used to sitting like this with Hunter and Aspen and Joshua is purring in my head.
- “Hunter, there are a few things I want and need to explain to you. First of all, the Council failed you and your Mother by not finding you a Lycan Pack to stay with. It would have made somethings easier for you.
- I rushed into the kitchen because I could feel your emotions going haywire. For this to make sense to your Mother, I need Brent to text one of my Sons first and then it will be easier for me to explain.” I ask Brent through the mind-link to text Justin with the news that I found my Mate.
- Justin is the one that shows all his emotions outwards, unlike his older Brothers. Brent nods his head and I look at Aspen as I say “Hunter, look at your Mother.” Brent hits send on his phone and in seconds Aspen is looking around in shock.
- “Alpha, it looks like Jayce felt Hunter as well. I received a message from him a few minutes ago, but I missed it.” Gabe says as Aspen is still at a loss. Hunter stares at her Mother and slowly a small smile appears on her face.
- “You can not only feel your Mate’s emotions, but also those of your children. You can feel mine because….” Her words trail off and her eyes widen. She takes a deep breath and the smile on her face becomes bigger.
- “I can feel their emotions too.” She yells and she looks at me as my phone rings. It is Jax and I answer him quickly “Hello, Jax.” I wait for him to quiet his Brothers down before I answer his questions.
- “Yes, I found my second chance Mate. No, she is a Werewolf. Yes, we will come home as soon as possible.” He doesn’t ask about siblings and I decide not to tell them about Hunter, I will save that surprise for when we get home.
- Hunter looks at me and I wink at her as I end my conversation with my Sons. She looks at me and I say, “They didn’t ask about siblings, so they will be in for a surprise when we get home.” Making her giggle.
- “Is that why I am able to read Hunter from time to time?” Aspen asks and I explain that we can feel strong emotions from our children. Being marked means that she can feel my Son’s emotions and I can feel Hunter’s emotions.
- “I asked Brent to text Justin, because he is the one that is better at showing his emotions. In the beginning this might startle you from time to time, but not all emotions can be felt.” I say as I look at Aspen and I hear Hunter mutter “Thank the Goddess for that.”
- “Luna, can I ask something?” Brent asks, but Aspen doesn’t respond. "Aspen, can I ask something?” He tries again and this time she looks at him, while Gabe starts laughing.
- “Mom, did you ignore him on purpose or didn’t you understand he meant you when he said Luna?” Hunter asks, Aspen’s cheeks flush red and Gabe laughs even harder.
- Aspen ignores both of them as she turns to Brent. “Have you ever felt in which direction you had to go to find Hunter and did it become stronger after she got her Lycan?” He asks, for a few minutes she is quiet and then she nods her head.
- “That is also a part of the bond between a family. It will take some time, but in a few months you will all be able to feel that bond. It is one of the reasons why Lycans barely get kidnapped.” He says.
- “Can I feel it when someone tries to find me or is it a one way direction?” Hunter asks and Gabe tells her it is one way. I see a concentrated look on Hunter’s face and suddenly she points in the direction of where my Pack is.
- “I can feel two of them strongly, the other two are a little fainter.” She says as she looks at Brent. Brent and Gabe both stare at me and I know I have to find out more about her Father, because this is unheard of unless he was a High-ranking Lycan.
- “I will ask the Council for some answers.” Brent says to me as if he just read my mind. I know there is still a lot we need to explain to Hunter and Aspen, but I think this has been enough for today.
- “Hunter, if there is anything you want or need to know you can ask Gabe, Brent or me and we will answer every question you have. For today I think we have covered the most important ones.
- However, I want you to know that Brent will be asking the Council questions about your Father. The fact that you can already feel my Sons is almost impossible, but once we learn more about your Father we might have more answers.” I say and she hugs me as she whispers “Thank you” in my ear.
- I send Victor with Aspen as she heads to the Pack-hospital for her shift and Gabe offers to stay with Hunter. Brent and I head to the border with Alpha Malcolm to find out more about this quarrel between the two Packs.
- I spend the rest of the day talking with the other two Alpha’s and Brent almost has fit when we find out why they are at odds with one another. A Warrior from one Pack is mated to the Gamma of the other Pack and the Gamma’s Alpha is very much against a same sex couple in his Pack.
- The Gamma is more than welcome in the other Pack, but his Alpha refuses to let him go and wants him to reject his Mate for the benefit of the Pack. I send Brent back to keep Gabe and Hunter company as I try to find a solution for this predicament.
- “Alpha Malcolm, can we speak privately for a moment?” I ask him as I walk away from the other two Alpha’s. As soon as we are out of hearing range I ask him if he has any ideas on how to resolve this matter. He thinks for a few minutes when he suddenly starts smiling.
- He tells me what his solution would be and I have to admit that this could work out for all Packs involved. We walk back to the two Alpha’s and I tell them what Alpha Malcolm came up with. It only takes about half an hour of discussing before both Alpha’s agree to Alpha Malcolm’s solution.
- It had taken hours to find out the reason of the fight and less than an hour to solve it, Alpha Malcolm could have done this by himself if they had talked to him. But no, they had to start fighting and involve the Council.
- Well, it did help me find my Mate and I can’t wait to bring her home. “Victor, is Aspen still at the hospital?” I ask him and he answers me that she is. So, I quickly make my way over to the hospital, just in time to hear a nurse talking to the other Doctor.
- “I don’t understand why they never came for Hunter. I gave them all the information they needed and still that little brat runs around here. And on top of that, her Mother happens to be Alpha Daniel’s Mate.
- Why is life so unfair to me? First Aspen takes the man I love away from me and now she is the Mate of Alpha Daniel. I want her to pay for what she did to my Love, she is the reason he is dead.”
- I had opened the mind-link immediately after I heard Hunter’s name and a few of my Warriors were already at the hospital, while Brent went looking for Alpha Malcolm.
- The Doctor however is the one that almost makes me lose control to Joshua as he says “Don’t worry. In half an hour Aspen will have her break and then she will no longer be a thorn in your eyes.
- As for Hunter, I have called her Uncle and it turns out his Father never mentioned any of this to the rest of the Family. He will contact me soon once he has a plan in place. With her Mother dead, Alpha Daniel will leave her here and that will make it easy for her Uncle to get to her.”
- Victor informs me that Aspen gets a drink from the fridge every day, a drink the new Doctor gets for her and we both know that she trusts him enough now to not question the drink.
- “I won’t let my Luna get hurt. I will protect her with my life, Alpha.” Victor states and I know that he will protect her or die trying.
