• I walk into the kitchen to make coffee, while Daniel heads to the front door to let them know that they can come in. “Good morning, Dad. You look well rested.” I hear Hunter say and as I turn around my eyes water at the sight in front of me.
• She is on Daniel’s back as he walks into the kitchen, followed by his Beta and Gamma. She kisses his cheek before she jumps off his back and rushes over to me, pulling me into a hug as she says “Good morning, Mom.” I hug her back and kiss her forehead before I turn back to the coffee machine.
• Daniel, Gabe and Brent are in the living-room talking about the quarrel, while I ask her if she behaved herself. “Mom, I promised Dad that I would behave myself.” She says as if I have just offended her and then we both burst out in laughter.
• “It means the world to Daniel that you call him Dad. He will love you and care for you as if you are his own, despite all your flaws.” She looks at me with watery eyes and I pull her into a hug as Daniel rushes into the kitchen.
• “What is wrong, Hunter?” He asks panicked and for a moment I stare at him. Bella is the one to point out to me that he can feel my emotions and I somehow reflected Hunter’s emotions to him.

• Daniel wipes away her tears as Gabe puts creamer and sugar in a mug of coffee before he hands it to Hunter and to my surprise she doesn’t hand it back after the first sip. “I watched her last night and this morning as she made her coffee.” Gabe explains to me.
• We drink our coffee in silence and I wonder what it is Daniel thinks he needs to clarify for us. Hunter has a small smile on her face as she drinks her coffee and I can feel that both she and Daniel are happy and content.
• I always wondered why I was able to feel Hunter’s emotions, but I never had anyone around that could tell me anything about her Lycan or how certain things work for a Lycan.
