Chapter 42 I'll Remember That

• After tossing Brice’s clothes in the washing machine in the bathroom, Clay washed his hands. When he was finished with that chore, he strolled back out into the main living area. He grabbed a book he’d spotted in Brice’s place a few days ago. The hardcover was under a pile of compact disks. This novel was tucked next to the manuals for explosives and field operations. After Clay grabbed the story, he collected the folder and pen and returned to the bed.
• The look of confusion was back on Brice’s face.
• Once Clay was curled in the covers, he flipped to the first page. He didn’t read one word. Brice’s eyes bore into him.
