Chapter 5

  • *DAMIAN KINGSTON*
  • When I arrived at the engagement party, Richard and others came and filled me with problems. I need to solve this, sign that, and as if that wasn't enough, I hate parties. I entered the first room I found, turned off the lights, and started thinking about how to solve the problems they dumped on my head. Just as I was about to light a cigarette to relax, I heard the door open and then close.
  • I listened to the sweet and soft voice of that Barbie venting alone.
  • "Great, I'm hiding from everyone here, no one will find me. Boring party, boring people with huge egos."
  • I should be angry with this girl. She was calling us boring and full of ourselves. I wanted to see her scared, regretting her words, so I lit the cigarette.
  • "Who are you?" she turned on the light and Icould see her scared.
  • Arnold Duncan made a wonderful daughter. The dress accentuated the most beautiful curves of that body. I couldn't help myself and stood up, slowly walked towards that petite body, and she backed away completely frightened. It drove me crazy. I loved seeing her scared of me.
  • I got closer and at that moment, I could see the beautiful face she had. The green eyes, the fair skin, and a few freckles. Lips as pink as porcelain. That skin must also be incredibly soft. "Has this mouth ever been kissed?" I couldn't stop thinking about it.
  • My future daughter-in-law kept stuttering as I asked questions. I rushed and smiled when she said she was a woman, rushed even more when I said she would only be one when she was fucked by a real man. What was I thinking? She got scared and it was my turn to back off, but since I'm never wrong about others, I knew she was insolent and only reaffirmed my certainty.
  • "Who would be this real man, your son?"
  • "Jade will never be a man." I sat down and she approached.
  • I decided to adopt a neutral stance towards her, she was already scared enough. Seeing that I had lowered my guard, she proposed that I give up this marriage. There's a lot of business and money involved in all of this. It's not simple to give up, these types of agreements are the ones that bring the most profit, the most advantages. The father wants to marry his daughter to the boss of the Mafia from another country, creating new alliances and more allies.
  • I found that girl daring. She looked at me and begged me to break this agreement. I wanted to see her suffer a little more and I accepted that absurd proposal. Sarah smiled in joy, a sweet smile, I weakened and enjoyed that smile for too long. I stood up and went straight to the stage, feeling her running behind me excitedly. In front of everyone, I said I would accelerate the wedding by reducing it by 2 months from what was agreed. I looked at that little girl in the midst of so many "boring" people, as she herself said. The blonde girl ran away, crying, disappeared from my sight.
  • "Damian, the girl was moved by the advance in the wedding." a friend and ally climbed onto the stage and joked. He knows that the girl doesn't want to get married, it's normal in families, arranged marriages are never well accepted by the respective grooms.
  • "Actually, my friend, she wanted me to break the agreement."
  • He laughed heartily.
  • "Poor thing, Damian, you made the girl cry." he laughed. I that doing that and seeing her suffer would make me feel good." Do you feel sorry for the girl?"
  • "Not at all. I advanced the wedding because I realized that girl would give me trouble."
  • "She needs to respect you, Damia. If she loses respect for you, everything will spiral out of control." I stored that information in my mind and stepped down from the stage.
  • "Dad, what the hell is this? We're getting married in 1 month, are you crazy?" Jade grabbed the sleeve of my shirt and complained.
  • "My love, are you sure she wanted to accelerate the wedding? She seemed devastated."
  • "She'll get used to the idea, Louisa" I try to leave to go after her, but stop when I see Arnold wave and walk towards me.
  • "Talk to her father and explain why you advanced the wedding, Arnold. I'll go after Sarah." My wife kissed me and left.
  • *SARAH DUNCAN*
  • I was mistaken, for a moment, I thought that man would back down and cancel the agreement with my father. I arrived here a few hours ago and he has already made my life a living hell. First, he proposed that I stay in the country alone, without my father and brother, until the wedding, and now this! I'm getting married in 1 month?
  • I hate Damian with all my might. He is a demon in the form of a man, completely wicked. I don't know why my body reacted to him. Damian Kingston only thinks about himself and doesn't give a damn about others' feelings. I hate myself for feeling attracted to him. He won't get away with it, he won't. I'm going to make his life a living hell, I still don't know how, but he will pay for this.
  • "Sarah." I lift my head and see the wife of the wicked male approaching. "My daughter, are you okay?"
  • "No, Mrs. Louisa" she sits beside me and hugs me.
  • "It was a lie, you didn't want to move up the wedding, did you?" I stay silent.
  • "You said you didn't want to get married, and now you want to speed up the wedding?"
  • "He lied." I said, even though I was afraid of Louisa's reaction.
  • "I know it was a lie, I know the husband I have."
  • I lift my head and look at her.
  • "I hate your husband, Louisa. Forgive me for saying this, but I don't like Damian." I start crying.
  • She hugs me silently for a while and strokes my back.
  • "Damian has been very irritated with some problems, forgive my husband."
  • Louisa is very submissive to her husband. I am starting to perceive the personalities of each one in this family. The son, Jade, seems not to care much, to not be concerned about the family business. I could also see that Damian is upset with his son. The wife, Louisa, is the type of woman who does everything for both of them. I want to observe every detail. I won't be a chess piece to him, moving in whateverdirection he deems best.
  • While I think these things, I wipe away my tears. I can't go on crying. Damian must be laughing at me by now. I did everything to make them give up on this marriage and nothing worked. I think about causing a scene at this party, but that would only make the situation worse. It would be dangerous to marry tomorrow. I need to be cautious about everything. I have one month for that.
  • "Feeling better?" Louisa asks when she sees that I've dried my tears.
  • "Yes, thank you, Louisa. Shall we go to the party?" I stand up.
  • Arriving at the party, my brother hugs me from behind and gives me a playful tap on the head.
  • "Hey, sis. What did you do, huh? Irritate Mr. Damian?"
  • "My hair, idiot!" I complain. "And don'tmention his name."
  • "What's wrong?"
  • "The fact that he's a wicked man. He wants to make my life a living hell."
  • "Relax, sis. You just arrived today, things will change in a few days."
  • "Or get worse." I see Jade talking to some people.
  • "Jonathan, I'll go talk to my future husband. Go bother those bandits, go."
  • Jonathan makes a face and disappears from the scene. I approach Jade. Since I have no escape, I need to face reality.
  • "Jade?" he looks at me.
  • "Hi, gorgeous." I hate the way he talks, as if I'm a piece of meat and he's a tiger eager to devour me.
  • I thought it would be easy to talk to him, but I'm not used to being so close to a man other than Jonathan and Arnold. He notices my uneasiness and approaches."I don't bite, gorgeous, you seem shy."
  • "A little. Sorry for the way I left earlier."
  • "I thought you would like it when I called you... that word. Usually, girls like it."
  • "I'm just not used to it." he takes a drink from a passing waiter and hands it to me. "I'm also not used to drinking."
  • "You turned 20, didn't you?" I nod.
  • "It's time to try new things." Jade holds my hand and pulls me to a table. He grabs a chair and sits across from me.
  • "You must hate my father, right?"
  • "want me to tell the truth?"
  • "Do you have to? I would hate it if I were you," he smiles, revealing his white and aligned teeth. Jade has a beautiful smile. He leans closer, bringing his face nearer to mine. Not knowing what to do, I gulp down all the champagne at once.
  • "Hold on! You'll get dizzy like that. These drinks are meant to be consumed gradually, for enjoyment," he takes my empty glass and places it on the table.
  • "You are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, Sarah."
  • I feel flattered, my heart racing a bit, perhaps out of shyness. But my body doesn't react the same way it did when I was in the room with Damian. I don't feel butterflies or fire between my legs. I'm sad about it, I would love to feel for Jade what I felt for his father. It would be so easy if I could fall in love with my fiancé.
  • I glance over to the side and my eyes meet Damian's brown ones. My chest tightens, such a strange sensation. He's drinking with three other guys and staring at the two of us. And as usual, he's angry, teeth clenched and wrinkles between his eyebrows. He's turned back into that angry pitbull. My hands start to tremble under his gaze. I wish I knew what goes on in that stupid mind of Mr. Damian's.
  • To be continue.
