- My eyes slowly opened, squinting to adjust to the lighting of the unfamiliar room. The huge comforter draped on me was making me uncomfortable. I pushed it off me and sat up.
- A dull sting in my ankle reminded me of my situation before I lost consciousness. Damien! I scrambled out of bed but crumpled on the floor, landing on the wrong foot.
