• That Saturday evening, Dave insisted I spend the night with him in his penthouse. I wanted to prove stubborn and refused but I had to comply because Lena would be spending the night at the Garret house and I would be left alone in the apartment. After dinner, Dave and l lay on the bed in our nighties with our bodies entangled under the sheets, enjoying each other's company in silence.
• "When are you going to be free so we can go and see my parents?" Dave broke the silence.
