Chapter 4 She Will Be Mine
- Lisa’s POV
- I turned down Lewis's ridiculous offer because I had other ways to get the money.
- Colin had given me his family's heirloom sapphire necklace as a gift when he got engaged to me. I knew how much this necklace meant to the Davis family and how much Jessica loved it, so I was going to sell it back to Colin.
- Colin of course agreed with my proposal, but he didn't show up for our appointment, and he did not answer my calls either. So, I had to investigate his whereabouts and find him myself.
- "Good evening, Colin."
- When I arrived the Lose Memon, Colin was playing poker with his friends in a VIP room.
- "Hi Lisa, why are you here?"
- He was very surprised to see me and he immediately stood up. Meanwhile, his friends noticed me. But I didn't feel any embarrassed by facing the astonished gazes of the his friends in the room. I just ignored all of them and placed my mousse cake on their table gently.
- "You missed our appointment in the day, so I came to see you in the evening."
- I smiled, and told Colin what I was here for. As soon as I finished speaking, a few whistles and flirtatious remarks came out from Colin’s friends around me.
- Colin felt a little embarrassed. He quickly pulled me to a corner and whispered his explanation to me.
- "I'm sorry, Lisa. Jessica doesn't want me meeting you , so I missed our appointment. I've talked to her about the necklace. She doesn’t thinks it worth two million dollars and she doesn’t want me help you.
- If I still give you two million dollars, she may misunderstand that I still have feelings for you. So, I'm sorry, I can't help you.
- If you're in dire need of money, you can auction the necklace. Then I can spend more money to buy it back from the new owner."
- Colin's words froze my heart and extinguished the last flicker of my hope. I can not believe Jessica Daiz would do this to me. She was my good friend since my sophomore year, and both I and my grandpa had helped her a lot in the past 5 years.
- I suddenly smirked and said to Coin, "Mr. Davis, if I sell the story of you, me, and Jessica to the media, how much money do you think I could earn? "
- "Lisa, are you crazy?!"
- Colin was completely caught off guard by my threat! He stepped back in surprise, looking at me with fear, as if he had seen some kind of monster.
- For the past years, I had always appeared perfectly before him. But now, he probably realized for the first time that I could also be so ruthless.
- I didn't mind his scrutiny at all. Instead, I picked up my mousse cake from the table and started eating it bit by bit.
- "Fine, Lisa, I agree to help you. But you must keep it confidential."
- "No!—"
- Colin was about to agree to lend me two million dollars when suddenly, a woman rushed over and blocked him, then she turned around and slapped me hard across my face.
- After a moment of surprise, my gaze turned cold. It was Jessica!
- I touched my face, feeling a slight burning sensation, then I stared at Jessica and smirked.
- "Jessica, do you think you can replace me in marrying Colin? Do you think the Davis family would accept you?
- The Davis family broke off the engagement with my family because Smith Trust would go bankrupt and my grandfather would lose everything.
- But what about you? Your family has nothing! Your father is a gambler. Your mother is a drug addict. Your brother is a rapist and still in prison. What value do you have for the Davis family?"
- "No!"
- Jessica felt humiliated by my words. She turned around and slapped Colin again. Then she ran away with crying.
- Seeing this, I laughed.
- Jessica is just Colin’s mistress. The Davis family wouldn't accept Colin marrying her. And Colin is too weak to revolt his parents’ decision.
- "Lisa, I will talk to you about the sapphire necklace next time. But if you dare sell Jessica's information to any media, I will not let you go!"
- After saying this, Colin ran out for Jessica.
- I looked at his retreating figure, shaking my head disdainfully. Now I feel like I must have been blind to fall in love with Colin and take Jessica as a good friend.
- Lewis’s POV
- I stood in the dark corner of the hallway, witnessing everything that happened between Lisa, Colin, and Jessica. I was very surprised to found that Lisa is very interesting. Her performance exceeded my expectations.
- I always thought she was just a pretty Barbie doll, obedient, excellent, beautiful, and lacking in depth. But I was wrong. She's not a delicate rose in a greenhouse, but rather a small wildcat with sharp claws.
- Initially, I was only interested in her background, appearance, and body, thinking she could be a suitable wife for me. But now, I realize that I'm not just interested in her body. I'm interested in her as a whole person.
- This is the first time I've been interested in a woman other than Lucy. Thus I made a decision. I must get this woman and make her my wife.
- I called my secretary Benny and asked him to find out which hospital Lisa's grandfather was admitted to and then buy that hospital for me as soon as possible.
