• Felicity was laughing when Brent came back in. He set the basket beside the island and stood there watching her. He cleared his throat. “So now you have to stay, with a dog and everything, time to settle down.”
• Felicity got up from where she’d been kneeling. “Oh, yes. Life on the road wouldn’t be right for a dog.” She walked over and wrapped her arms around his waist again and rested her cheek against his chest. Glancing down she watched Miracle turning in her basket and plopping down with a big yawn. “Aw, she’s all tired out already.”
• “She probably exhausted herself trying to climb up the steering wheel as I was driving. I’m lucky we survived the drive.” Running a hand down her hair, he pulled her tightly into his arms again. He moved over a few feet and leaned back against the island. “I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about you, Felicity.”
