Chapter 9 Sleep In The Master Bedroom
- Night had fallen when we reached the house, the sky outside pitch black, lit only by faint stars and the dim glow of streetlights. For some reason, spending the whole day with Sis Elin—from the salon to the restaurant to the clothing store—hadn’t left me tired at all. My body felt light, but my mind was crowded as if something kept spinning endlessly. We climbed to the upstairs floor, our steps side by side in the quiet corridor, until we stopped in front of our respective bedroom doors.
- I was about to open my door when Sis Elin suddenly looked at me, her eyes shimmering softly under the corridor’s light. “After you shower, I’ll be waiting for you in my room, okay?” she said abruptly, her voice low but firm, leaving no room for questions. Before I could respond, she turned and entered her room, the door closing softly behind her.
- I stood frozen in front of my door, my hand still on the handle, my brain flooded with questions. Why was she suddenly inviting me to her room? Last night, she’d come to mine, and now it was my turn? What was she planning? My thoughts ran wild, a mix of fear and something I couldn’t name—hope, maybe? I shook my head hard, trying to dispel it all, then entered my room to shower, hoping cold water could calm this turmoil.
