Chapter 90

  • John drove through the busy streets of New York, his concern evident on his face. He went through the neighborhoods where Vittorio Amorielle had his ventures, starting with the Lower East Side, passing through the Upper West Side, and heading towards Union Square in the heart of Manhattan. At each location he visited, the response was the same: no one had seen Laura there.
  • Frustration began to mix with anxiety. John knew that time was running out and that every minute was crucial to finding his missing partner. He needed a clue, any hint that would lead him to Laura. Upon arriving at the Meatpacking District, John parked the car and looked around. The neon lights and the bustling atmosphere of the neighborhood seemed to hide dark secrets among its streets. But even there, there was no sign of Laura.
  • He took a deep breath, feeling the weight of uncertainty on his shoulders. John felt discouraged by the lack of progress in his search for Laura. However, a spark of hope ignited within him when he remembered the last call he received from his missing partner. Determined to find any lead that could take him to her, John took Laura's number and decided to contact Peter, a friend of his who worked at the Quantum Department.
