Chapter 7 The Devil Queen
- Emine's grip tightened around Marianne's hand, her eyes filled with an unsettling mix of anger and fear. As Marianne felt the suffocating weight of Emine's gaze, a chilling sensation crept over her, causing her to break into a cold sweat without even realizing it. She desperately tried to find her voice, but the words seemed to be trapped, as if an invisible barrier prevented them from escaping her trembling lips.
- "Repeat what you just said!" Emine's voice erupted with a force that startled the onlookers, their joyous faces now contorted with fear. The intensity of her presence made it nearly impossible to meet her gaze.
- Marianne's body shook uncontrollably, rendering her unable to utter a single word. Her mouth hung open, silently attempting to form a response, but it was as if her throat had constricted, leaving her speechless and helpless.
- "Are you going to repeat it?" Emine's tone softened, and the menacing aura that had enveloped her dissipated. As Marianne noticed this sudden change, a glimmer of hope and newfound strength coursed through her veins, replacing the earlier fear.
- "Didn't your worthless mother teach you anything about choosing your battles? That woman was nothing but a home-wrecking harlot, skilled only in seducing other women's husbands. And what did she teach you? How to steal your own sister's boyfriend and bring about her demise?" Marriane paused, taking a deep breath as the pain of her past gripped her, "Are you satisfied, or do you want me to continue?" She raised an eyebrow provocatively, challenging Emine further.
- "Oh, please, go ahead. Feel free to unleash your venomous words. Don't hold back; say everything that you desire," Emine coolly responded. Beneath her composed facade, a blazing anger burned within her. She knew she had to regain control, lest she truly succumb to the impulse of harming this girl. She needed to calm down, maintain her poker face, and keep her true intentions hidden.
- Marianne stood there, astonished and at a loss for words. Her mind struggled to find a response, leaving her speechless in the face of Emine's verbal assault.
- "Well, since you're speechless, I suppose I can release my grip on your delicate little bones," Emine sneered with disgust, finally releasing Marianne's neck. Retrieving a tissue from her bag, she wiped her hands clean, a gesture of disdain. After disposing of the tissue, she headed to the cashier to settle her bill for the dress before leaving, saving her true plans for dealing with Marianne for another time.
- Marianne stood frozen, mouth agape, unable to comprehend how someone could be so repulsed by her touch. The look of disgust etched on Emine's face was the final blow to her already shaken confidence.
- "Oh, Emine, you've truly spread your wings," Marianne smirked, pulling out her phone and dialing a number. "I encountered Emine Campbell today."
- "What? You saw my sister?" The voice on the other end inquired anxiously.
- "It's true. I saw her, and you won't believe how shameless she is. She shows no remorse for taking the life of her own younger sister. As an elder sister, it's your responsibility to take action before she destroys you too."
- "Alright, I understand. I'll take care of it." They conversed further before hanging up.
- ...
- As Emine left the mall, she sat in her car, overwhelmed by an array of indescribable emotions. Lost in her thoughts, she delved into the memories of her troubled past.
- Once upon a time, nestled within the prestigious Campbell family, Emines mother was brought to the Campbell's family, her journey began humbly as a servant, brought into the Campbell household during her teenage years. Curiously, she arrived with a peculiar affliction—a complete loss of memory, a blank canvas awaiting the strokes of her past.
- Undeniably, she possessed an otherworldly beauty that surpassed the realm of imagination. Captivated by her allure, Mr. Campbell found himself unable to resist temptation and committed a heinous act, violating her innocence. She was raped by him.
- When Emine's mother discovered the truth, she informed Mr. Campbell about the pregnancy who advised her to terminate the pregnancy, revealing that he already had a daughter with Miss Campbell. However, she refused to yield and engaged in a heated debate. Unfortunately, Mrs. Campbell overheard snippets of their conversation pertaining to pregnancy and confronted her husband. In a desperate attempt to shift blame, he claimed that Emine's mother had seduced him. The matter eventually reached the wise old man's ears, and he decreed that the child should not be aborted, suggesting that perhaps she would bring forth a son.
- Unfortunately she gave birth to a girl, and that was when she new the definition of hell. News of the scandalous affair spread like wildfire throughout the city, plunging Emine's mother into a nightmarish existence. Mockery and humiliation followed her every step, shattering her spirit. Unable to bear the incessant torment, she made a desperate escape, leaving behind her infant daughter, Emine, to be raised as nothing more than a household servant.
- As Emine was lost in her painful reminiscence, her phone suddenly interrupted, jolting her back to reality. With determination, she swiftly dialed an unfamiliar number, her voice betraying a sense of purpose.
- "Find me the address and schedule of Marianne Andrews' house," she demanded.
- "Miss, are we embarking on an operation? We haven't had any excitement since you returned to America," the voice on the other end whined like a spoiled child.
- "If you seek amusement, go and find it elsewhere. You're not my concern," she retorted, her tone icy.
- "But Devil Queen, you know the game lacks thrill without you," the voice persisted playfully.
- "MC!" she exclaimed, her teeth gritted in frustration. This mischievous boy seemed determined to push her to her limits. "I'll ensure you remain girlfriend-less for the next three years," she declared, her voice seething with determination.
- "Miss, this joke isn't amusing. You know I need someone to keep me warm," he pleaded.
- "You..." She took a deep breath, endeavoring to steady her fraying nerves. This foolish boy was pushing her to her breaking point. "MC, if you dare utter another word, I won't hesitate to extract every last one of your teeth," Emine threatened.
- MC reluctantly fell silent, well aware of the Devil Queen's capability to follow through. Losing his teeth was not a risk he was willing to take. He needed to find a girlfriend, get married, and savor the joys of life.
- "Now, follow my instructions diligently. I require it within thirty minutes," she commanded before abruptly ending the call, leaving him no opportunity to respond.
