Chapter 5 Never Really Paid Attention

  • Ximena nodded and smiled slightly.
  • “I want to take a bath; I'll go down in a moment.”
  • Amber nodded and stood up. Following her, he helped her up as if she knew her body was in poor condition.
  • Ximena didn't say anything because she really needed it, so she leaned on her as she said it. As they walked to the bathroom, Ximena couldn't help but ask.
  • "How do you know I feel bad?" Do I look so terrible?”
  • Amber smiled innocently and replied:
  • “No ma'am, before leaving, the gentleman mentioned that he might feel a little lethargic when.
  • principle…”
  • Ximena shuddered with horror and a terrible nausea invaded her.
  • Without knowing how, she pushed Ámbar away, staggered to the toilet, and began to vomit desperately.
  • There was obviously nothing in his stomach, so there was nothing to give back, but it got to the point where he couldn't stop the disgust reflex and couldn't stop himself.
  • “Lady! Lady! What's going on?!”
  • The men who were keeping watch on the balcony rushed in and, seeing the unpleasant scene, shuddered.
  • It was an unwritten rule that if anything happened to him while they were on guard duty, even if they hadn't done anything, they would be tortured until almost their last breath.
  • The three of them were starting to panic.
  • And Ximena with all her might tried to control herself.
  • "How long was I unconscious?"
  • He asked wiping the corner of his mouth, the look he gave them gave them goosebumps. The men looked at each other and did not know what to answer.
  • Then she looked directly at Ámbar who was next to her, but she responded quickly. Urgently groping.
  • "I arrived this morning!" Still… I don't know anything.
  • Once again, he couldn't control the feeling and tried to vomit.
  • "How damn long have I been unconscious?!"
  • The younger one stuttered a bit and answered sincerely.
  • “T…t…two days”.
  • In a second, Ximena's pupils shrunk, and she stood up furiously.
  • "That bloody bastard!"
  • She wanted to get out of there and look for Lucas demanding an explanation, but the three of them stopped her and tried to calm her down, however, her fury increased even more, and she broke the mirrors with the things she managed to throw.
  • “Lady! If we can't control her, the lord will send the doctor again!”
  • In shock, Ximena stopped. The boy, embarrassed and with a look of pity, helped her sit in the bathtub and left them so they could bathe her.
  • Lucas, since his first incident, had started working in his studio.
  • Because everything was calm, he got restless because he thought Ximena would go crazy again.
  • He had hired a girl his age so he could have someone to talk to and distract himself.
  • Out of all of them, that girl had the cleanest background and was the most outgoing. Her personality wasn't annoying, and she hadn't tried to flirt with him from the start.
  • I sincerely hoped that Ximena would feel better.
  • She could no longer remain alone according to the psychiatrist's instructions. And the medicine was getting stronger.
  • If she continued in that state, she could simply wait to fulfill her long-awaited wish.
  • He clenched his fists and an annoyance that wouldn't leave him alone, he wanted to explode every time he remembered how she wanted to get rid of him so desperately.
  • His low, helpless voice carried through the silent study.
  • "You will never, ever get rid of me."
  • His assistant swallowed, and remained silent as if he didn't exist. With that constant restlessness, she stood up and went to the room.
  • "That bloody bastard!"
  • Stunned, he stood rigidly.
  • The noise began to be heard in the bathroom and he ran to see what was happening.
  • “Lady! If we can't control her, the lord will send the doctor again!”
  • Everything was silent. A few moments later, the two men looked terrified at the dark-faced man in front of the door.
  • Lucas signaled for them to remain silent, and they went out to take their place.
  • After a moment, the running of the water began to be heard and how Ámbar tried to lighten the atmosphere.
  • “Knows? Her husband is a very attentive man, hehehe. He told me each thing that he dislikes, what he likes and what he doesn't.”
  • I don't like lilies either. In fact, they have a very strong smell…
  • “Me, I like lilies, I hate roses”.
  • Amber was uncomfortably silent. And outside, Lucas somewhat surprised.
  • She had clearly heard on one occasion from Ximena, while they were taking a walk, that she hated lilies.
  • What he didn't notice was that she had done it just to know if he was listening or not.
  • Whether fortunately or unluckily, the next day there was not a single lily in the garden. He didn't like roses, but even so he took care of them with affection because Lucas had had them planted for her.
  • He had paid no attention to their wedding preparations, nor to the wedding itself.
  • Ximena had gone out of her way to fill absolutely everything with those flowers. There was never a single rose.
  • It had taken months to prepare, and she mentioned at least once a day how much she liked them.
  • Ámbar looked at his scarred body and her heart ached. Ximena was very beautiful, her face was delicate and soft, her kind and tender features gave a feeling of warmth.
  • Her body was too skinny, but if she was fed properly, she was sure she would be a beauty hard to ignore. She looked tired and haggard, her gaze cold and lifeless.
  • He spoke very little and only spent his time looking at nothing immersed in his thoughts.
  • After leaving the bathroom, she dressed and quietly sat on a window seat, hunched over her knees, and hadn't spoken since.
  • Ámbar, worried, I bring her lunch, lunch, and dinner. But she touched absolutely nothing.
  • “Lady…”
  • "Go rest, thank you for your attentions."
  • "Ma'am, your husband really loves you...”
  • "Get out!" And don't mention that bastard again! If it's so perfect stay with it!
