Chapter 3 Stupidity
- She knew that this desperate obsession would only break her more. But he was completely willing to hold on to her even if he broke in her hands.
- She was his, body and soul she was his. No one, no matter who it was, would take her from her, and she, she could never get rid of him no matter what.
- "Bring your big brother here, if he's not here in two hours." He too will die…
- Ximena choked full of rage and impotence. She clenched her fists and teeth as she silently rose to her feet and came out of hiding from her.
- She had no doubt that he did it because he was furious, and her family had no bills to pay to that huge snake she had wrapped herself in.
- Seeing her, Lucas nodded satisfied, he was about to go over to check that she was okay, however, before he could touch her shoulder, she raised her gaze that had been fixed on the ground and looked at him with immeasurable hatred.
- He didn't articulate a word, but the meaning was there.
- His heart squeezed, he seemed to even feel how he was bleeding, but he endured it, she was still there, he could see her and feel her presence, it was the only thing he needed.
- If she wasn't…
- He would surely go crazy.
- How can one return to bitterness when sweetness has been tasted?
- It was already impossible.
- She got into the car indifferent and without looking at anyone and immediately closed the door without paying attention to Lucas who was about to get in.
- The surrounding men jumped and almost screamed like maidens expecting a near bloodbath.
- But contrary to that.
- He signaled to the driver to take her away. While he was looking at the car, Lucas watched as he walked away somewhat dejected, although he did not express it openly, he felt abandoned.
- There was no love or respect anymore. The only ace she counted on was fear and now, it seemed that she was fading too.
- He was sure that now it was just a matter of who would hold out the longest.
- Although he told her that it was an order that he had taken impulsively and without knowing that it was his brother.
- Would you believe it...?
- Hehehe, of course not.
- Again, as he watched the car drive away, that persistent fear full of restlessness and discontent did not leave him alone.
- “Let's go.”
- He said as he got into the other car and in silence saw the other already quite far away.
- “What are you waiting for? Do you want to miss again? speed up!”
- The driver nodded and accelerated instantly, after several dangerous and fast maneuvers, he was right behind the car that Ximena was in.
- After seeing him in the mirror, Ximena simply watched without emotion.
- “If you were in the same situation…
- What would you do?”
- The driver closed his eyes for a moment, almost asking the gods what he had done so badly to fall into that situation.
- If he said something wrong and she did something, he would be dead, and if he said something rude, she would be very hurt.
- He sighed deeply and squeezed the wheel for a moment.
- He had already finished paying his debts, his mother and sister would not know if he died, and they would not spend on a funeral or anything like that. So, she just spoke sincerely.
- “It's not right what's happening to you, it's not right to cling to someone or something like that.”
- The man has a big problem, however…
- Ximena, who had seen him surprised for a few seconds, smiled, it was normal for him not to be able to speak, how did he think of forcing the poor man to criticize him?
- He shook his head and with a sad smile he apologized.
- "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have spoken without thinking." Do not mortify yourself, you do not have to speak well or ill of anyone.
- “It is just that…”
- He sighed deeply and looked out the window.
- "Forget it... just drive."
- Upon arriving at the house, Ximena got out of the car long before the driver and walked to the house.
- Lucas also got out and followed her in silence, she was so exhausted that she walked to the stairs without even looking anywhere.
- Just when he was halfway through, Lucas's cold and commanding voice was heard.
- "I want you to make dinner today."
- She stopped and looked directly at him as if she expected him to be joking.
- "The jerk can't see what time it is. Two in the morning? Three?"
- Lucas, who could almost read his thoughts, wondered for a second if he had called him an idiot or stupid, but he knew that if he asked, there would be no answer.
- He simply walked towards the kitchen and did not wait for Ximena's response. She smiled a little tired and went down reluctantly.
- He went into the kitchen, turned on the fire, and just made scrambled eggs with a horrible amount of salt.
- He tossed it onto a plate and placed it tactlessly on the table.
- Lucas who had sat quietly at the table from the start could even see the nasty pellets with his naked eye.
- Ximena simply crossed her arms and waited patiently for her next move.
- Previously, she had prepared his meals with great care and waited expectantly for him to try and give his nervous point of view.
- He went out of his way to investigate his tastes and find new recipes so that he would not get bored or not like it.
- However, now…
- He raised the spoon as usual and began to eat. From the first taste, the terrible salty taste almost burned his tongue. But even so, she ate absolutely everything.
- Ximena worried for a second about the large amount of salt, it would be terribly harmful to her health.
- However, precisely a second later she wanted to hit herself on the head until it was unceremoniously stupid.
- And what if he died? If she got sick or if she fell out of favor? Wasn't it the best for her? How frustrating was habit and that disgusting and terrifying thing called love.
- Lucas drank a full glass of water, stood up and took the dishes to the sink and washed them in silence.
