- An hour later she added a new notebook and a few pens to the duffle bag and then looked around the room. She was feeling so many things right now, all she could do was stand there. She was nervous, doing this. She hadn’t left the city in seven years. Excited from the anticipation of doing it mixed in with the paranoia and guilt—if anything happened, the last two journals weren’t here for the next keeper.
- She glanced toward the library, she even felt guilt over the fish. How sad was that?
- Inhaling a slow deep breath, she picked up the bag. She was being silly. She’d be back here in a few days. By then, Bastian and the Alterealm royals would have things well in hand and she would, hopefully, know what she planned on doing about Bastian.
