Chapter 5 Not Worthy of Being My Disciple
- Under Madison's lead, Cole arrived at Lakebay Villa, which was an area renowned for being a place where the wealthy people of Elliswall stayed.
- During his journey here, Cole was told that the patient he was about to meet was Madison's grandfather.
- In the meantime, Old Mr. Young's room was packed.
- An old man was breathing weakly while lying in bed. That old man was the head of the Young Family and Madison's grandpa, Angus Young.
- Beside him, a gray-haired old man in a suit was reading Angus' pulse.
- "Dr. Howard, how's my grandpa doing?" Madison came in and asked.
- "Old Mr. Young's body has lost its vitality. He might not make it!"
- As soon as he said those words, sad cries filled the room.
- "My grandpa was still strong and healthy a month ago. How could his health have deteriorated so quickly?" Madison shook her head.
- "Miss Young, I can understand your feelings, but I've been practicing medicine for over fifty years and have cured all sorts of strange diseases, so trust me when I say that Old Mr. Young's time is almost up. Even the Gods can't save him now."
- "That can't be. I don't believe it!" While saying that, Madison burst out crying.
- The Young Family was big, and the person Angus doted on the most was Madison, so the two had a very close relationship.
- "Maddy, since Dr. Howard said Dad's condition is incurable, we should hurry up and prepare for his funeral!"
- At that moment, a middle-aged man with a hooked nose came in.
- He was Thiago Young, Angus' adoptive son.
- "Shut up, Thiago. Grandpa's not dead yet, so there's no funeral!" Madison screamed with bloodshot eyes.
- "Maddy, you're the assistant director of a hospital. Can't you see that he is not going to make it?" Thiago continued.
- "Don't think for a second that I don't know what you're planning. You want Grandpa to die sooner so that you can get your share of the inheritance, right?"
- She continued, "Even if Grandpa took you in as his adoptive child, you will always be an outsider to the Young Family."
- Thiago's face fell as a vicious light appeared in his eyes.
- "Maddy, what are you trying to say? Dad has already written his will, so there's no need for me to plan anything."
- After saying that, Thiago took out a piece of paper from his pocket and threw it at Madison. "Take a look!"
- Madison quickly took a look at the paper, and her face instantly paled.
- A will! This is a will, but it's digitally printed out except for Grandpa's signature.
- The will stated that if Angus passed away, ninety percent of the Young Family inheritance would be given to Thiago.
- Ninety percent!
- "Thiago, this will must be fake. It's definitely fake."
- According to Grandpa's character, he will never write such a will. Thiago must have used some sort of trick to trick Grandpa into signing this.
- "A fake will? Are you trying to deny this will when Dad's signature is on it?" Thiago sneered.
- While Madison gritted her teeth, she felt rage, hatred, and all sorts of emotions surging in her heart.
- The content of the will was clearly written, so no matter how angry she was, there was no way to turn this situation around unless her grandpa woke up and canceled that will. Otherwise, there was no other way to change this situation.
- "Dr. Howard, is there really no other way?" Madison looked at Gabriel Howard, hoping he would say that her grandpa could be cured.
- However, Gabriel shook his head and said, "You should start preparing for his funeral."
- Thiago crossed his arms and smiled victoriously. "Didn't you hear what the doctor said? Prepare for his funeral. Haha!"
- Damn it! What should I do? I can't let the Young Family fall into Thiago's hands! Madison thought.
- As she was clutching her fists too tightly, her nails dug into her palms, causing her to bleed.
- Meanwhile, the rest of the Youngs all had grim expressions on their faces.
- Right then, a calm and confident voice sounded. "Dr. Young, have you forgotten about me? I can cure your grandpa!"
- At that instance, the world seemed to have quieted down as everyone turned to look wide-eyed at the young man walking out of the crowd.
- The young man seemed ordinary, and his clothes might not even be worth over a hundred bucks.
- Madison looked at Cole and asked, "Can you really cure my grandpa?"
- Although Madison witnessed Cole curing Samuel with acupuncture, Samuel didn't have a chronic illness, but her grandpa did!
- "Of course!" Cole nodded.
- "Although Old Mr. Young's illness seems quite strange, curing him is easy as pie."
- "Even a miracle doctor like Dr. Howard can't cure Old Mr. Young's illness, so what right does an insolent child like you have to say you can?"
- "Get out of here immediately or I'll end you!" Thiago roared.
- Meanwhile, Gabriel was also looking displeased. "You're wet behind the ears. How dare you doubt my diagnosis?"
- Cole looked at Gabriel. "What if I manage to cure Old Mr. Young?"
- "Hmph! If you manage to cure him, I, Gabriel Howard, will serve and respect you like my elder!"
- Gasp!
- Once Gabriel said those words, the room was in an uproar!
- Respect him like an elder! Isn't that saying Gabriel would acknowledge Cole as his master?
- One had to know that Gabriel was the renowned unsurpassed traditional medicine doctor in Esterburn.
- Only a few in the traditional medical field had skills that were on par with his, and the patients who could invite him over for consultation were all big shots.
- As for the Youngs, they only managed to get Gabriel to come over after promising him a 10 million consultation fee.
- Not to mention becoming Gabriel's master, anyone who could become his disciple would become famous and achieve instant success!
- However, Cole took a look at Gabriel before calmly retorting, "You're not worthy of being my disciple!"
- The moment he said that, everyone was stunned. How arrogant was he to say that Gabriel Howard wasn't worthy of being his disciple?
- Hearing Cole's words, Madison frowned as she didn't expect he would say something so straightforwardly.
- At first, she didn't have high hopes for Cole, but now, she was completely disappointed in him.
- In Broynia, those who were capable were all humble and open-minded, while only those without capabilities would speak haughtily!
- "Very well then. I would like to see how unworthy I am of being your disciple!"
- While pointing at Cole, Gabriel was trembling in anger.
