Chapter 55 An Altercation

• Dolores turned to her grandson. "I heard the commotion. What happened?" Dolores was a bit of a misogynist. She didn't like Anna and her family, but she would pour all her love unconditionally onto William.
• "I was angry because they got you nothing but a bowl, so I tried to argue, but then Cole said my painting was a fake. Even said he'd beat me up. Grandma, this is not the kind of behavior we should tolerate around here."
• William, like a lot of minor villains, put on the victim act. He's told everyone my painting is a fake. I have to accuse him of something he didn't do and get Grandma madder if I want to turn things around.
