• I heard all that was said by Erica's parents, and I couldn't help but feel guilty for what I had done to her. I knew that saying such isn't appropriate, but I thought she would do what others do to their mates.
• I had thought that she would reject me, and I wanted her to do so. I couldn't believe how I had hurt her. I feel like I made a terrible mistake by telling Mabel I loved her and then telling her to reject me.
