• I had bluffed in front of Nolan when I mentioned wanting to be sent to the Royal Inspector. Deep down, I knew the royals didn't care about me, and the Alpha King wouldn't care about me being the Royal Breeder. Only my mates would try to do something, but their powers were limited, and Nolan continued to act like an idiot to gain favor from his father. I was alone and knew I had to devise a plan quickly. Telling them I wasn't the assailant wouldn't solve anything, as the kitchen maids had already been used against me, and I had no chance against the person who had set me up. When we reached the front of the throne room, I heaved a deep sigh and closed my eyes as the doors opened. The guards pushed me to my knees, and I faced the Alpha King and Luna Queen seated on their thrones. Just staring at them made me feel nauseated, and I couldn't help but think about what they did in this room. Don't they have lives outside of giving orders and making life unbearable for the weak?
