• I watched as the priestess removed her hand from my face and then turned to face Amara and Benjamin who were in the room with us to give them news about me and the next time that I would have to sleep with the first prince. She had been at it for hours chanting and saying things I couldn’t comprehrend. I couldn’t say anything but watched her do whatever she wanted to do.
• "She is deemed suitable to mate with the prince," Kura, the high priestess, announced as she concluded her chant in an irritating tone. "She will commence mating with the first prince after the conclusion of the full moon," she added, locking her gaze with mine. "She is now prepared to conceive the first prince's child."she smiled as she locked eyes with Benjamin.
