Chapter 7 Blood Jade Drake 3

  • "...Xiao...Qingxiao..."
  • A deep, hoarse voice of a man resounded in my ear.
  • The blood grimace on my father's back was getting clearer and clearer.
  • The face wasn't fixed but it moved according to my father's movement. The 2 pairs of button-like eyes were nailed on me.
  • And the huge mouth was curving up unnaturally...
  • "Xiao... Qingxiao..." Whose voice was that? Was he calling me?
  • "Qingxiao!" A strong hand tapped on my shoulder.
  • I jerked and came back to my senses.
  • Brother was staring at me, "You really... You could just stand there and daydream? What are you looking at? Hurry and go prepare food. I'll help father to scratch his back."
  • "No! Don't! There's something behind his back..."
  • When I redirected my eyes, the grimace was nowhere to be seen. The deep, hoarse voice disappeared too.
  • "What was there? You want to say there're fleas? Hahahhaaha!" Brother laughed and walked over.
  • Both he and father knew Taoism arts, they must be able to see it right?
  • When I was boiling the pot of soup, my mind was wandering.
  • What was happening in this family?
  • The hideous ghost husband appeared out of nowhere, had his way with me every night until I passed out and he wanted to get me pregnant...
  • My father and brother were experienced experts but they came home injured. Now there was even a grimace behind my father's back...
  • Brother appeared behind me from nowhere, "Ginseng Chicken soup?" He lifted the pot lid and laughed, "Are you trying to nourish yourself after being tired of the nights?"
  • I lowered my head and didn't dare to answer. Three more nights to go. My private part was swollen and sensitive. And my back and legs were sore. I didn't even know if the soup would show any effects.
  • Near midnight, I sat on the bed anxiously and bit my fingernails. All of a sudden, the grimace on father's back appeared right in front of my eyes. When my terrible ghost husband appeared out of the blue, I jerked up in fright.
  • Yes, it was the exact same mask. But the one my ghost husband wore was in black color and the one on my father's back was blood red!
  • We had talked enough earlier in the day, so he directly began the routine without saying anything.
  • After learning of his objective, I decided to grit my teeth and accept my fate. However, the moment he entered me, the cold and tearing pain continued to make me tense up and quivered.
  • He was agitated and my reaction made him even more impatient.
  • There was nothing more needed to say between us. The room was only left with rhythmical slapping sounds.
  • My body was intolerable of the pain and my eyes welled up in tears. I even hoped that he could make me bleed so the blood would lubricate me.
  • Luckily, he merely did once tonight.
  • He must be getting sick of it right? I thought that I was in luck because my body didn't give in. As long as he didn't find pleasure, he would be tired of me soon.
  • When he got down the bed, I hurriedly called him, "Hey... Umm, freak ghost..."
  • "Who are you calling!?" His suppressed anger was instantly lit.
  • I was shocked but I didn't want to concede, "I didn't know your name and you are the one wearing that freak mask."
  • "If you don't know my name, you can call me darling. I'd allow you that." He sounded smug and superior.
  • Of course he would feel that in front of an offering.
  • "Can you change another one? I don'twant to call you that." After knowing that I am just a tool for him, the fear within me wasn't as much.
  • He thought a moment and replied coldly, "I am Feng Lihen."
  • "Feng...Lihen..." I repeated it softly. It was a nice name. Far unsuitable for someone as ruthless as him. "I wonder if you have another mask in blood red color?"
  • He let down his crossed arm and asked in a serious manner, "Where did you see it?"
  • "I saw it on the back of my father. It disappeared after showing me an odd smile. But both my father and brother didn't see it... My father had gone to handle a difficult case few days ago. After he got back, he became sick. He had never suffered such a serious injury before this."
  • I was speaking all to myself and I didn't notice the back of his hands were pulsing in green veins.
  • "Alright." He opened his mouth, "I'll go take a look tomorrow, now you just shut up and sleep."
  • Oh, he still stood by my bedside. How could I fall asleep under his stare?
  • He didn't disappear right away tonight, but sat himself down on my bed and faced me with his back.
  • Wasn't he gonna leave tonight?
  • I tried my best to stay awake. But when I was dozing off, he still remained unmoving.
  • Did the replica in blood red have any relation to him?
  • It was rare that I got a restful sleep.
  • When I finished class and got home, I saw father was just about to shut the store. I then asked him hesitantly, "Dad, is your back ok?"
  • He simply looked at me with confusion, "What do you mean? I just scratched an itch."
  • I didn't clarify it, because I was afraid to worry him. I'd always heard from my childhood that the scariest spirits were in red and they always smile like that. They were normally high-ranking evil spirits.
  • But we had numerous authentic magic weapons at home and my father was an expert in them. How could a spirit possess his back then?
  • "Qingxiao, come here, let me show you something." Father smiled mysteriously.
  • Probably he was the same as me and couldn't sleep well for the past few nights. His eyes were bloodshot red.
  • He carried a dark red wooden box on the coffee table and muttered, "Someone came to sell this today. I saw that it was quite suitable for you and so I got it. Do you want to try on and see if it fits?"
  • See if it fits? Why?
  • He took out a piece of old, red traditional wedding dress from the box. It was handsewn and looked exquisite, but it was too old with chocking dusty smell.
  • I was displeased, "I don't need it. Do you think I've lived too long and expected me to finish my wedding ceremony with that phantom?"
  • He chuckled, "Of course not. This is for you to wear when you marry a living man."
  • Marry? I wouldn't be marrying this life.
  • I began to notice that my father was unusual. He had always tried his best to keep me away from items that were related to the netherworld. Due to my mother's early death, he never let me help deal with his business. It was strange that he urged me to put on this obviously netherworld-related wedding dress.
  • I stubbornly refused to wear it and his face slowly turned cold. All of a sudden, I heard a voice, "You'd better accept when I'm asking you kindly."
  • I was stunned, then looked at him in reflex.
  • His eyes were swollen red and he was glaring at me grimly.
  • At that moment I immediately realized that he wasn't my father!
  • "Dad... Dad! What's wrong with you... Yanhao!! Hurry!" I jumped up in fear and screamed to ask my brother for help.
  • However, father didn't respond and my brother was out. I was all alone at home.
  • "Qingxiao... Xiao... Qingxiao... My wife..." The man with deep, hoarse voice breathed to my ears.
  • I fixed my eyes fearfully at my father and watched as his mouth opened and closed. The red color in his eyes had spread all over his eyes.
  • He clutched on the red wedding dress, bypassed the coffee table and walked towards me...
