Chapter 38 Elena - Cheerleader
- I exhaled softly as I pressed a finger on the scanner next to Talia's door, my hands full with bags and bags of different snacks and groceries. After Richard left to go have lunch with Sarah, I needed to take my mind off things. And so, I took myself out. It didn't work out as much as I had expected, but at least now I was feeling a lot better.
- Talia looked up from her laptop in shock as the door drew to a close behind me. “Elena?” she asked, putting the device away and sitting up promptly, a deep frown on her face now. “What the hell are you doing here? Shouldn't you be enjoying your honeymoon with Richard or something? I wasn't expecting to see you until next month at least.”
- I huffed as I sank down on the plush sofa, and she instinctively held her arms open for me, offering me a much needed hug. I dropped the act of pretending I was fine and just threw myself into her arms and squeezed tightly, not sure what to say to her, but sure enough that she would understand how I was feeling.
