Chapter 4 Time To Go
- Sierra pov.
- I opened my eyes, realizing I was back in my room, on my bed, and lying down. Quickly, I stood up and looked around, trying to recall how I had come back into my room. The room was dimly lit, and the air was still.
- The door opened, and I saw my mom with a tray of food in her hands, walking over to me. As she placed the tray by my bedside, she held my hands with a sad face. I could smell the aroma of freshly baked bread and warm soup from the tray.
- "Sierra," she called out my name and looked up at me with tears in her eyes. "I know this is when I will have to say goodbye to you, but could you stay with me for just a day, so I can spend some time with my daughter?"
- Overcome with emotion, I pulled my mom closer to me and hugged her tightly. She was the only one I had, and today was the day I would say goodbye to her.
- "Mother," I whispered, my eyes now filled with tears. "I'm going to miss you, mom."
- I looked over at the food and took the tray, placing it on my lap, and started eating. Despite the sadness, I felt hungry, and the food tasted comforting.
- After I was done, I kept the tray back on the lamp stand and looked over at my mom, who was sitting there looking at me. As she stood up to leave, I held her hands, pulling her closer to me, and hugged her again.
- "Please, mom, can you stay here with me, even if it's just for a little while?"
- She smiled and nodded, and I moved aside, and she got into the bed, sitting close to me. We held each other's hands for almost an hour, and I didn't want it to end. I could feel the softness of her skin against mine, and it was as if I was holding onto a piece of home.
- After a while of staring at the roof, I fell asleep, feeling the warmth of my mom's hands around me like a protective shield.
- I open my eyes as I saw my mom waking me up. I look around, seeing I was still in my room, and my mother had tears on her face. The sight of her tears made my heart sink.
- "What happened, mom?" I ask, my voice thick with sleep.
- She pulls me into a hug, and I can feel her body shaking. I wrap my arms around her, feeling the warmth of her embrace.
- "I will miss you, Sierra," she says, her voice trembling.
- I pull my mom even closer to me, and we cry together, saying goodbye to everything I have ever dreamed of.
- As I stand up and walk over to my window, I can see the car parked outside waiting for me. The sight of it makes my stomach twist with anxiety.
- I walk into the bathroom, and the smell of lavender fills my nose. I take my clothes off, revealing the scar on my back. It's a mark of bravery and wisdom, my father had always said.
- After I finish bathing, I walk out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around my body. My mom sits on the bed, holding a dress in her hands. It's the same dress my father had promised to buy me before he was killed.
- I walk over to her, and we hug again. The tears won't stop falling from my eyes. After I finish crying, I put on the dress and look at myself in the mirror. I feel like a princess going to a ball party.
- Just then, my mother takes my hand, and we walk out of my room. As we descend the stairs, I can hear the sound of Nora and Alex's voices. They're already waiting for me.
- I run towards them, the sound of my bare feet pounding on the wooden floors. I hug them tightly, feeling the warmth of their bodies. It's time to go, time to say goodbye to everything I have ever known.
- "We are going to miss you, Sierra," Nora says as she cries on my shoulder.
- "Please, Sierra, don't go."
- I look at Alex, her face already covered in tears. I move towards her and use my dress to wipe away her tears.
- "Don't worry, Alex. I will be okay."
- After I hug all of them, I step out of my house, noticing almost half of the students present just to say goodbye.
- I hug the few I could as they all bid farewell to me. I walk over to the car as the driver closes it and takes his seat.
- I watch as everyone keeps on saying goodbye, and I smile and wave back to them. Soon, the car drives, and I can see everyone fading away from me.
- I relax a little bit on the car seat, closing my eyes to relax and prepare for whatever happens.
- "My Queen, what would you like to get before I take you to the Palace? The Aloha had ordered me to get you anything you want before your arrival."
- I open my eyes and stare at him when he says that. I wanted to say I'm okay, but then I remember I didn't bring any clothes with me.
- I tell him to take me to the mall, and he does that without saying anything. He pays for everything I pick up, and I'm surprised because even with the expensive items.
- As we start heading back to the castle, I breathe out because I know my new life has just begun.
- Soon, I fall asleep after a long ride, feeling weak. I feel a tap on my leg, and I open my eyes to see the driver smiling at me.
- "We are here, My Queen."
- I open my eyes and look around as I see how big the place is. I step out of the car and feel my body becoming cold.
- "This is it," I whisper. "Time for a new beginning."
