Chapter 4 Wondered
- As Paul drank his iced tea, he wondered what kind of business meeting this will become. Will it be just another boring useless meeting, or will something come out of it? He was meeting June Foster, a CEO of a famous and exclusive jewelry company.
- Will she be a control freak or just a regular retail freak? It’s hard to tell from the email that set up this meeting. He braced herself for another boring meeting when everything around him goes silent.
- When he looked up, he noticed that most of the men in the restaurant are looking toward the entrance. He swiveled his body so that he could see what marvel has stunned these men. Is there a supermodel in the house?
- And there she is, a tall brunette with the longest legs he has ever seen. Dressed in a mini dress and high heels, this woman is single to none. She walks with the boldness of a runway model and a knowing look that says she is extremely aware of how hot she is.
- This woman seems to catch the attention of men and women alike as the subtle curves of her body invite temptation and longing. Her ample breasts are highlighted by a plunging neckline. The hem of her dress lands right below a rounded ass that is rock solid.
- Everyone who looks at this woman is rewarded with a naughty smile that invites even more attention. Her lips are full and bright with a sexy shade of red lipstick. Her shining chestnut hair falls way below her shoulders, covering the opening of her dress that goes as low as her waist.
- It’s her, the woman Paul’s meeting.
- “I’m June Foster, and you are Paul Carter?”
- “Yes.”
- Paul extended his hand toward hers. There’s a surge of electricity that enters his body through her hand as they touch. He had never felt anything like this.
- “Glad to meet you.”
- He pulled out the chair across from him, and she sat down.
- “If you don’t mind, I prefer to be called Gayle.”
- “I don’t mind at all,” Paul replied as he sat down at the table.
- Up close, he can see that her eyes have a hunger that he’d never seen before in a woman. Her eyes almost seem to glow. She catches him looking at her and winks. He was completely taken aback.
- “Yes, the color of my eyes does not match. Does this startle you?”
- “I didn’t even notice.”
- “Sure,” Gayle smiles at him.
- “Shall we order?”
- “I’d prefer to talk business before we order if that’s alright with you?”
- “That’s fine.”
- He liked a person who gets right to the point. It’d be nice to get the business part of this meeting over with so that he could get to know this extraordinary woman who practically exudes sex with her every breath.
- As she gives him her pitch, he took notes in his mind. She’s serious about her work. She never smiles once as she tells him statistics and talking points. He listened the best that he can, but her beauty is so distracting.
- Luckily, Paul liked what he was hearing so far. He has this gut feeling that he usually got when a business is perfect for placement in his malls. They could make a lot of money together if they can work out terms of business that suit them both.
- When she reaches the end of her pitch, she takes a small sip of water. It’s amazing to June that her lipstick does not stain the glass.
- “So, what do you think, Mr. Carter?”
- “Please, call me Paul.”
- “If it pleases you,” she nodded.
- When June said this, her lips twitch as she withholds a smile. He found this very endearing.
- “Let me tell you a little bit about my business.”
- Paul began his spiel, and she starts to fidget with a ring on her index finger. She slides it up and down and it’s quite distracting. The ring is a band of diamonds that are so perfect, they sparkle in the light.
- “I’m boring you?”
- June smiles at him.
- “I’ve read all about your company on your website. Tell me something that isn’t on your website,” she demanded.
- He likes her ability to challenge him. This is just what he needed in a partnership. She’s sexy and smart. The perfect combination. He thought for a minute before deciding to give her some background information on his company that nobody knows.
- She gets it right away that this is confidential information. She bites her full upper lip as she listens to him. He might be a billionaire, but he would give up all of his money for just one taste of those lips.
- “How did you overcome these setbacks, Paul?”
- Now she’s getting personal. She wanted to know what makes him tick. Even though he told no one about his struggles, he found himself opening up to her. He was a tough nut to crack, but she was able to get him to open up with little effort on her part.
- The waiter interrupted them, and they order without looking at the menu. They both order the same thing. They were silent for a moment before either of them speaks.
- “Like minds?” Paul said.
- “Truly.”
- Suddenly, he felt her foot traveling up and down his leg. This drives him wild. It’s only in movies that he’d seen this happen, and now it’s happening to him. She moved her foot higher and higher.
- “Do you mind?”
- “Oh, do you not like that sort of thing?”
- Paul felt his face burn hot. He knew at this point that he has to have this woman. If she’s this daring at their first meeting, what will the next meeting be like?
- He made a note to schedule their next meeting somewhere sexy and romantic. As she sat before him, he now knew why she was called the Temptress… and he couldn’t help but love it.
- "So, tell me… what about this should I consider?" June asked him.
- "Well, to begin with—King Empire is one of the most prestigious mall builders, and our malls tend to stay open," he said, flashing her a debonair smile with a hint of deviousness.
- She took a bite of her salmon and pushed the saffron rice around the plate.
- “Why do you say that?”
- He sipped the wine from his glass and tipped it toward her.
- "I'm glad you asked. We tend to spend quite a bit of money on researching the area and the demographics surrounding a potential site."
- He winked at her, and her stomach gets butterflies.
- “This way, we don't lose money because the malls don't go under, even during recessions.”
- “You certainly make a good point. I’m sure you’re aware that we only sell from our headquarters around the world and have heard about the possibility of our company opening a store to the public,” June slid him a knowing glance, and he raises an eyebrow in her direction.
- "Of course," he smiled, "I do my research on companies that could be possible entities in my malls, as well."
- It’s his turn to shoot her a knowing glance.
- "I want more than a Nordstrom or Gucci Brand. I want something no one else has."
- June noticed a cheeky grin on his face.
- Was he meaning her company or her, personally? She casted him a curious, yet flirty smile.
