Chapter 38 Lost In The Haze Of The Night 1

• My heart fluttered as Zephyr’s hand enveloped mine. Tears threatened as he pulled me into his arms. The music grew louder in the background, and slowly, we danced, letting the melody guide us. Zephyr’s eyes never left mine, his gaze pouring love into me. I felt like the happiest woman alive.
• “Sapphire, I am a man of few words when it comes to romance, and even though I might not say the words to you now, I want you to know that I will be the best mate to you, cherish you, and be with you forever,” he whispered, placing his hands behind my ears before leaning in to kiss me. A gentle kiss sent my heart racing faster than I expected. Even though we had kissed many times, my heart raced every time.
• The night sky suddenly erupted into a kaleidoscope of colors between our kisses. Zephyr broke the kiss and turned toward the sky with his arm around my waist. I, too, stared at the sky, watching the dazzling fireworks display. The burst of light and sound made everything beautiful, and I couldn’t stop staring.
