Chapter 8 My Story

  • I was yelling muffled words and Creed looked at me, removed the clothing from my mouth, and raised his brow, “What were you saying?”
  • My eyes couldn’t get off from his face, “You came here to save me?”
  • Creed shook his head, “Nah, I’m just here to rob them and destroy their alliance with the other rogues.”
  • He then pointed at my hands, “You can bite down that rope, right? You can go now.”
  • I was still in shock, expecting him to take me with him as his captive, somehow, that idea was much more interesting to me. “You’re letting me leave?”
  • “I have no use for you anymore.” I knew this was good news, yet his response made me disappointed. “I never wanted those bastards anyway. Since I got what I want, I am good.”
  • “You’re the son of an alpha, you’re breaking your word and-”
  • “Why do you care? Why? Do you want to keep being tied up?”
  • My vision suddenly became blurry, my head rang with an agonizing sound and I suddenly lost balance.
  • “What is this? Are you expecting me to carry you all the way?”
  • I heard Creed retorting, but I didn’t have anything to reply to him as his figure was becoming cloudy for me. I shifted my bodyweight into him for support, until my legs gave out and I fell to the ground. My eyes closed and the last thing that I could see was the full moon clearly hanging by the sky.
  • **
  • “Wake up…Nyra…”
  • I woke up in a hazy state, with Ravena’s face greeting me.
  • “You’re awake.”
  • “Where am I?” I asked.
  • “somewhere safe.” Was all she could reply.
  • “Where’s Creed?” I asked, not finding him anywhere.
  • “He’s scouting the area.”
  • I nodded, and Ravena looked at me with caution. Her mouth tells me she wants to ask something but is waiting for the right time.
  • “What happened? Why are you looking at me like that?”
  • “You really don’t know what happened after you passed out?”
  • I shook my head, her voice sounded like I had done something inevitable and deadly.
  • “We were under attack and you took all the fifteen rogues out. All by yourself. How did you manage to do that?”
  • I gasped, it happened. again. I looked at the sky and saw the full moon. I must have transformed into my other self and rampaged.
  • I looked at Ravena’s face. There were scratches everywhere, and dried-up blood, “Did I wounded you?”
  • “Yes…but it's nowhere compared to the wounds that Master Creed received…you were even attacking us and couldn’t even hear our voices despite calling your name…Master Creed eventually had to knock you out.” She explained, “I know it's not my business, but I can’t help but ask if who was that back there…the one who could fight everyone…”
  • I do not know how to explain this condition I have to her…and I am planning on keeping it a secret for a while. I am ashamed of it, to be the only wolf who can’t even fully control herself and is always affected by the full moon.
  • I kept quiet, and it's a good thing that Ravena sensed that I was not in the mood to open up about it. She decided it was best to leave me alone with my thoughts. It didn’t take long for Creed to show up.
  • Creed’s arms were all covered in wounds, and what I couldn’t take my eyes off was his ears which looked like they were chewed out…which is obviously my work.
  • He stood beside me and looked ahead, “How are you feeling?”
  • I chuckled, “Cut to the chase and stop pretending to care, are you not going to ask me about it?” I motioned at my hands, referring to the incident about when I passed out.
  • “Do you have any plans to tell me about it?” Creed asked back.
  • That made me scoff, “Wow, when did you have the time to care about my feelings?”
  • He glared at me, his jaw clenching, “It would be meaningless as it seems to be your secret…is it the main reason that killed your father and why you are banished to the Silverfang pack?”
  • I flashed him a smile, “Perhaps.” I thought about telling it, in exchange for information from him. If we’re going to reveal secrets, then let’s do it in exchange for something valuable for me.
  • “I would tell you if you tell me why you left your pack too…and even left your throne.”
  • Creed took a long pause, as if calculating very carefully his decision before nodding his head yes, much to my amazement.
  • “Fine…you first..” He answered.
  • I cleared my throat, “Yes, you are right. Ever since I was a child, I have had this condition of rampaging and couldn’t control my wolf instincts. Every full moon, my attacks go so often that I kill some members of our pack. It was an advantage that my father was an alpha, who cleaned up behind me every time…..not until the recent incident and I was framed by my brother for my father’s death. It was enough for the pack to believe as they all hated me to begin with. Now that the alpha was gone, my sole protector, they were not scared to do anything to me. They all abandoned me…my whole family…”
  • Creed listened to my story, and I didn’t expect myself to reveal almost everything. I do not know if he would fully believe me, but I think he did.
  • “Tha condition… it is not just you who have it.” He suddenly speaks up.
  • “Who else?”
  • “My mother. She killed herself when she found out she killed my father and had gone insane.”
  • “Where is she now?” I continued asking.
  • “Gone. She killed herself.”
  • “So that means…your pack needs you now as their next Alpha.”
  • He chuckled. “Ah, that’s the problem here…my uncle stole the throne from me.”
  • “And that’s why you had become rogue?”
  • “This is the only way. Gather my strength in numbers and attack when I am ready.”
  • “But-”
  • “That’s enough for today. You know too much…you know that ignorance is bliss, right?”
  • Now that he revealed to me his mission, I suddenly got curious more. I still have more questions for him but he didn’t look like he wanted to continue more.
  • “Come on, let’s go.”
  • I was flabbergasted by his statement, “Go where?”
  • “You already know too much about me, I can’t let you go now…” He said, lightly grabbing my hand to stand up, “Or are you regretting that you haven’t run while I let you?”
  • I shook my head, accepting his hand, “Well, you’re wrong about that.”
  • To go rogue and die alone rather than be with him on his mission? I don’t think I have a choice now. Not that I hate it.
  • “Is that final? ” he asked, “Once you go with me, there's no turning back. This time, you won't be my prisoner..."
  • That made me raise my eyebrows, “As what then?”
  • A smirk was the only thing I received, followed by Creed's words, “You’ll find out soon enough.”
